Hello,
A rookie question:
Can BS's be transported by self jumping ships? If so, do the need to be packaged or can they be loaded fitted? How many can be transported like this per (mother/capital) ship? Is it the maintenace bay that is the space for ships or is it the corporate hangar?
Thx, Acalin

You mean transported by those capital ships fitted with jump drives? Yes. I believe that they are stored in the maintenance bay and fitted. After all you can clone jump to some capital ships, if they are fitted correctly, and a packaged ship isn't much use. You may be able to store a packaged ship in a corp hanger though.
I'm sure that someone with more experience of this sort of thing will put me right.

Only mothership AFAIk can carry a BS assembled. And a Moros with full low slots filled with cargo expanders II can carry a packaged Battleship.

Dreads + Cargo Rigs and Expadners can transport repackaged BS, and MS can transport them assembled, doesnt fit in a carrier sadly.
I think people who fit cargo rigs on their dreads are insane, but its handy and works :)

Not that much. The cost of a single carrier is not that great when comapred to the logistical bennefict It could bring to a corp or alliance. Still far more cost effective than motherships as stuff movers.
On any alliance withdraw form an area I am pretty sure you can find people paying you 15-20 mil per jump to move their battleships away from danger... So in a signle day you probably can repay the dreadnaught :P

You would need a MS, but when a ship is placed in the SMA of the MS it is unpackaged automatically, this is how i understand it to work, so you cant fit more BS into it that way - - - - - - - - - All comments and posts are my own and not of Macabre Votum |

Even more so because you cannot dock with a mothership and thus need other arrangements. Me...I always log out in mine no matter what.

Freighter can fit quite a few if they're repackaged...
