(Note: This program is not sponsored by my corp or anyone other then myself, at the moment this is held and funded by Ikasu Kyleigh himself)
As I continue to fly through Gallentean space, on the borders of Caldari space, I continue to see the relations between our two great races crumble. Statments like "Death to all Gallente!" and "Caldari are war-mongering greedy bastards" have been tossed back and forth between the two. I have Caldarian friends, as I'm sure many of you have Gallentean friends, and now it's time I think we try to sooth things over a little.
After extensive work and a small amount of ISK I have redecorated a large amount of my Myrmidon's interior to accomodate people in an enjoyable way. Food, drinks, indoor pools, recreational areas and well decorated quaters fit to set everyones needs, the Cherry Blossom has it all. I hereby invite all interested Gallente/Caldari to come aboard. We'll talk, socialize, and discuss the current state of things.
Why a BattleCruiser? Because it's about as large as a Battleship, but it's not some decced out war machine. I feel this would send the wrong message. Why not a station? I felt it would be much more personal to hold this meeting on a ship. Please, come and visit, socialize, and enjoy yourself. You'll be allowed to voice your opinion, whether it's "I hope we can work this out" or "Death to all other races!", this will be your chance to back your statements up. Remember, only we can stop a war from accuring, and I highly recommend large Cladari corperate figures and Gallentean politicians to come as well, since they are ultimately the deciding factors of both races.
Besides, with all the Amarr/Minmater B.S going on, isn't it time we got our own awesome way to waste our time? Whether you want to bring a light friendly heart or a hardened debate attitude, you're welcome to join.
Rules of this engagment: There will be no violence. Anyone intoxicated will be taken into quaters for the remainder. No drugs or items that are illegal in either Gallente or Caldari space. Keep it civil. Extreme cussing and inapropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. Have Fun!
Entertainment: Indoor Pools Recreational areas Fencing/sport rooms Food/drink Small stages, make your own entertainment!
When will this take place? It depends on how many people are interested. Please post or Eve mail me if interested.

These are the kinds of things that will be open for discussion, these are the kind of things that I want us to discuss. If you can enter the debate with at least a semi-open mind then maybe, just maybe, your debate with someone else could come to a solution!

When the Gallente have made amends for all that they took, while giving nothing, then talks can begin. Otherwise, the best the State would gain from the talks is what is rightfully ours yet remains in the hands of the Federation for the time being.
The Federation is greedy, they will not give up anything. They never have, and never will. Even now, they repeat their past crimes against us, only now it is against the Intaki, who are further damaged by the criminal and drug elements that flood their homes due to Gallente hedonism.

Ever since I saw a hollowed out Apocalypse filled with exotic flora and fauna, I've had a particular curiosity in seeing how captains customize their hulls.
Plus, such a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between the Gallente and Caldari culture is one not to be ignored. I look forward to shmoozing with the State's finest diplomats.

Excellent, I welcome any event that plants the seeds of democracy in the minds of misguided Caldari. May I suggest the meeting kick off with a short speech highlighting the great diversity found within the Federation borders and perhaps list ways that the State can do better by patterning their systems after our own.
Negative standings between Durandal and Phoenix Wing not withstanding, I wish Ikasu great success in this gathering. ---

Tensions where high. caldari battleships pulsing with sensor boosters and invulnerability fields as gallente Trading craft passed peacefully.
This whole situation sickens me. Our Two people's feel hatred for each other for something that happened generations ago!
Yes i believe it is time we mended the fence.
Yet Simply Handing back Caldari prime to them would seem like a back down from our government. It is a simple matter of pride that may eventually destroy us all.
Yes i think of this and i am sickenned. I have Many Caldarian Freinds. My CEO is Caldari. And she treats me with nothing but respect.
Yes Tensions are high. Yes the majority of the Caldari and Gallente people's feel resentment for each other. But we must strive to co exist. All out war between the Gallentean Federation and the Caldari State Would mean total destruction. It cannot be allowed to happen.
So i Urge the Caldari and Gallente Governments to talk more. Trust each other more. and who knows. maybe caldari people will draw breath on their homeworld once more.
I sincerely hope this happens.

Good! I'm so glad to see many interested. Those whom are interested should post if you haven't already, as well as EveMail me.I may even make a lists of those who intend to be guests, for conveniant referance. More details of how and when this will take place will be sent in the mail's response ((Which may be partially OOC)).
Malthros, is it? I would like to see you attend the talks. Believe it or not, despite being a "Greedy Gallente," i'd very much like to see your opinion. Though I must disagree on the Intaki statement. Being one myself, and knowing many. I assure you not all Intaki agree with the Syndicate's/Liberation fronts ideals. But, this open comm thread is not where i'd like to discuss this.
Miss Doyle, pretty name by the way, I'm glad you're interested. I hope my custom decor does not let you down, many of the rooms feel very homey, whilst some still have the steel cold feel of a spaceships hull. I digress, hope to see you there.
To everyone else who has responded, please Eve mail me and I shall get back to you. I strongly suggest people bring some of their own foods and drinks if they can. It helps me keep ISK and, really, it's just polite. There is no tie and dress requirement, shown in what you will, come naked if you want (Not really), just try to enjoy yourselves. Enjoyment and debate, how else to fix our damaged bonds?

If I'm able, I would be quite interested in attending this function, Mr. Ikasu.
For the record, Mr. Salo's past deeds have been dealt with to the apparent satisfaction of the State and the Navy, if not of Mr. Vendrin. For that reason, Mr. Zevrik, I'd like to respectfully request that the title "traitor" be withheld so that when a really proper betrayal rears its head we'll still have a word fit to name the perpetrator.
In the meantime, it does appear that the patriotic hard-line of our State is indifferently represented, thus far. Would you care to come help make up the shortfall? Not even the most fanatical of the Patriot megacorporations is unwilling to hold dialogue with the Gallente, after all.

First off what a wonderful idea. Secondly, I am in desperate need of a vacation...
That being said, I would be most interested in attending! I know a wonderful caterer in the Verge Vendor system, if you need excellent food and don't want to settle for the imitation variety. As the company is quite expensive, I would be willing to help fund the endeavor.
I would of course need a few days of preparation. When do you suppose this event will occur?

Well, that was uncalled for now wasn't it? There's quite a difference between "bootlicking" and wanting to avoid a war.
I have no great love for the Gallente, and I strongly desire to see our lost homeworld back in Caldari hands. However, I do not see war as the only option. If a peace can be reached that includes the return of Caldari Prime, then I am happy to be a part of that, and even be in the presence of Gallenteans to do so.

Even the most fanatical Patriot mega-corporations are unwilling to wage all-out war against the Federation, but I am not sure they care for dialogue. Patriot foreign policy rests on using military power to exert hegemonic influence. Persuasion with a heavy hand seldom requires or desires understanding. Just compliance.

Quote: There's quite a difference between "bootlicking" and wanting to avoid a war.
There appeared to be more to Vendrin's disposition toward the Federation than averting total war. When our corporations were associated in the past, he vehemently argued not for mere peace between peoples, but for reconciliation between cultures.
I believe people grossly misconstrue and conflate liberalism in the State with liberalism in the Federation. These are not remotely same. Liberalism in the State is a doctrine that prescribes creating a balance of power between the empires, so that we can conduct business in a stable economic and trade environment.
State liberalism has nothing to do with raising a banner for humanitarian causes like the liberalism in the Federation. There is no common ground between the cultures (aside from a former, ill-fated association) upon which to reconcile.
Yet your CEO parrots the Federation's policy word for word. He denounces our allies the Amarr for their institutional slavery. He openly voices support for Matari terrorists who not only attack our Amarr allies, but steal CALDARI technologies on a daily basis. Every policy position that your CEO takes is opposite of the State's official position and in line with the Federation's official position.
Considering that, I think Cmdr. Zevrik's snipe was rather light. I would have accused him of treason.
Fortunately for him, I am in no position to make such determinations.
I know my place. Your boss, on the other hand, doesn't seem to.

I do not wish to derail this thread, as even though it is unlikely the Reserve will have any reason to attend, and we have objections to the person hosting them, there is no harm in such a gathering.
However, Tsukino, your sniping is pathetic. Considering what Vendrin and Apex have done -- things which you, in your position, may not be aware of -- it would behoove you to follow the advice of not throwing stones when you live in such a glass house. We do not kowtow to the Fraction or any pirates -- yes, we were forced into a strategic withdrawl in the Mito Conflict, but considering the "gratitude" we received from you and yours during the first eight weeks of the fighting in which we did participate, despite being constantly criticized by our "allies," and the fact that every other "ally" of TKI and GDBT, including your own corporation did the same, we can hardly be blamed for doing so.
The Reserve continues to answer the call of the State. We have earned the respect of our peers. We have taken the lessons paid for in blood to heart. I would hope that your own corporation has done the same, but it would appear you are more interested in verbal jabs than substantive works.
There will be no further comment by any member of the Reserve in this thread. -- CAPT Svetlana Scarlet CAIN Chief of Diplomatic Staff

Sounds like a fine evening.
Will I now? Care to offer any proof where I have sided with the Federation over the State? And the fact that I attended the Caldari Prime Memorial despite being under fire by FedNav vessels has no bearing whatsoever. I mean we wouldn't want the facts to get in the way of our pre-conceived notions and personal likes and dislikes now would we?
Quote: There appeared to be more to Vendrin's disposition toward the Federation than averting total war. When our corporations were associated in the past, he vehemently argued not for mere peace between peoples, but for reconciliation between cultures.
Please don't misrepresent me Father Abel. I did not wish a reconciliation between cultures, I wished a peaceful assimilation of the Federation once it's democracy collapsed under it's own bureaucracy, to boost the State's own economic power.
Quote: Yet your CEO parrots the Federation's policy word for word. He denounces our allies the Amarr for their institutional slavery. Yet more and more misrepresentation. This is getting rather annoying. While I agree with the Federation on slavery for both economic and idealistic reasons, I do not support Matari Terrorists, and in fact have engaged them before, including fighting the Rogues with CAIN when APEX was initially founded. I do however believe the Republic could be useful allies and an open marker, who do not present a long term risk as the Amarr do, if they ever decide the State is ripe for reclaiming. As for being the opposite of the State's official position, hardly. I believe that is perhaps 2, or three disagreements with the CEP's current policies, albeit if they are major policies, they are only few of many.
Quote: I would have accused him of treason.
Wishing to have discourse and peruse different options is not treason. I still follow orders from the CEP when they are given, and if a call to war comes, I will fight, but do not call me a traitor for wishing to try to prevent a war that will kill Caldari as well as Gallente.
Quote: However, Tsukino, your sniping is pathetic. Considering what Vendrin and Apex have done -- things which you, in your position, may not be aware of -- it would behoove you to follow the advice of not throwing stones when you live in such a glass house.
Always such a pleasure to hear from you Captain Scarlet, but I do not see why her sniping is pathetic, or has CAIN buddied up to the Intaki Union lately? Though if I might ask, who's boots exactly has APEX licked? I hear a lot of general terms but few specifics.
Quote: It's Dr. Salo, and I'm no traitor to the State. I've never served in the Navy so thats moot.
You know, it's a fairly rare thing when both APEX and CAIN agrees on something. When they do, I'd bet pretty heavily they are right.

Edited by: Talaris EveningStar on 17/03/2007 03:41:28 All squabbling aside, I would be most honored to attend your little get together Ikasu. Despite the apparent lack of willingness to avoid conflict on behalf of CAIN. I am most interested in a dialogue that could potentially avoid the needless loss of Caldari lives. The Citizens of the State are whom I serve first. And war would serve no one's benefit at this point.
It is too bad it is CAIN's policy to keep the level headed, intelligent officers in their ranks from speaking publicly, and allowing voices like Svetlana and Father Able to represent them. It is no wonder that many express annoyance and frustration in communicating with them when they cannot even communicate peacably here.
No matter. Peace shall move forward without them if your gathering is successful. And I truly hope it is. -
