I am about to get a new PC and was going to go with a new intel dual core cpu and vista (home premium) os. Has anyone else had issues with this sort of setup and playing eve free of glitches?
Some advice before I take the plunge would be most appreciated.

Running dual-core Intel proc and Vista on a laptop and desktop. No problems with either.
If you do run into issues, be sure ask in the EVE Technology section; should be able to get them worked out.

been running 2 clients same time in vista on dual core, geforce 8800 gtx, 70+ fps per client when each char is at a rather clogged POS, 1280x920 res for each.
biggest thing to pay attention to is your vid card, as driver problems are the cause of most incompatibilities. Some games will still have problems, half-life 2, for example, runs, but behaves odd at times. EVE has no noticeable problems.
i have home premium btw, and my fps is higher in vista then xp.

I recently got a server-grade Dell (two Dual Core slots, only one filled). 3.0 GHz Dual Core chip, 4 GB of RAM, Leadtech PX7600 GT TDH, two Dell 20" LCD displays, and four external SCSI drives brought forward from earlier system. This one runs six Eve windows with no issues of any kind... no crashes, no lag. In contrast the earlier 3.2 GHz 2 GB system developed numerous lag-related issues at 3-4 windows, including a host of collision bounce issues that were most annoying. I thought those were server problems until the Dual Core made it clear they were "features" implemented for some reason to affect slow clients.
I'm not sure at the moment of the FSB and memory speed, but I'm sure they are not the fastest such as we use in Dell PowerEdge servers with Dual Core. This machine is great, though, and I'm sure I could run more than six Eve windows if I chose to do that.
