Me and a friend were looking for that new addiction and i think we found it..
I was wondering what would be the best way to go about joining a Corp.
I've noticed the EVE university but i'm not too sure on how to join. I was looking for one with Microphone talk and maybe quite friendly towards new players? Any help in which way to go would be much appreciated.

Joining Eve Uni
Be aware that Eve Uni is a popular destination for newbies and there is often a "queue"
Other newbie friendly organisations include Brave Newbies, Pandemic Horde and Test Alliance.
Civilised behaviour is knowing that violence is barbaric, but paying other people to do it is business.

quoting this for emphasis. i would also be hesitant about corps that do not ask for an api key.

Whilst this is excellent advice for people when joining a corp for the longer term, I'm not sure it's critical for newbie corps, at least the large ones usually recommended. You don't need an API to join Pandemic Horde, for example. (It's legendary that everyone is a spai in Horde). You aren't going to get roles, obvious idiots are purged, and you fly T1 ships mostly and those are given out for operations to newbies.
Once someone moves on, then I'd agree one should be wary of similar 'open-door' corps purporting to be 'senior' groups.

High sec newbie corps that don't do API checks will be permanently war deced and new players will wind up getting station camped and unable to play the game for weeks on end. Many new players that experience this type of gameplay in high sec think that null and low can only be "worse" and wind up leaving the game.
I actually think that API checks are very important for most new player corps. Obviously every rule has it's exception and it seems that PH is one of those exceptions.
Just pointing out to the OP that if he and his friends join a high sec corp with a recruiting advert up and no API checks that they can expect to be war deced for the entire time that the advert is current and probably for a week or two after it goes stale. |

At the moment the queue is not exceptionally long, so it's the right time to apply ;) |

you join e-uni on their website. the queue can be long and there are other places to learn, like vsky for example. and e-uni's classes are open for everyone anyway |
