3rd time for this topic, maybe this is the one.
/me crosses fingers.
So, when I kill an NPC and someone swipes from that wreak, they get an aggression timer and I can kill them. Can we please get the same for PvP wreaks? Some iceing on the cake would be a no dock timer for 1 min also.
Really is a pain in the ass to work for a kill, then see some 2 day old char in a noob ship fly off with the loot, with absolutely no repercussions.

Well it kinda still belongs to the poor sap you just popped. Same as if he was popped by the NPC you mentioned. And they would have the right to attack whoever loots it. Wouldnt mind the 1 min timer to dock though. And perhaps player wrecks shouldnt be lootable by NPC corp members. Then atleast you could threaten them with a wardec.

Scavenging is perfectly legal. Lets not even get into it about your members calling those who do it Griefers when that really is all your alliance stands for.

No, silly Idea. You see, your simply not fast enough. If i can get to the wreck first, its fair game.
You don't own it, the person who died does. So you should have no rights to taking the loot, IMO. The person could self destruct for all it matters, but no one but that person owns the loot, and or salvage materials.
Of course, if you are not at war with the person, who's wreck it is, you should be flagged by his her corp.. but not by some random.

First of all, yes, scavenging is totally legal. The problem is that with lag and bumping around outside of stations, it is all but impossible for a combat ship to beat the smaller and faster ships to the millions of ISK in modules on the wrecks. This problem is further exascerbated by the fact that the person can then instantly dock.
If you want to steal things, you should be opening yourself up to retribution, crime is fine, crime with no option for punishment is not.

Hands out cookies and cheese to the whiners. So you wanna keep all the loot of you ganks huh? Tired of the alts at jita 4-4 scooping your loot? All you have to do is loot faster ;D

Then they need to bring a friend in a fast ship to scoop the loot. If they want it, then they should work for it.
Like I said, adapt. That's what you tell your victims that "whine" on the forums about priv tactics.

Well its oki for carebears to whine about something ingame they want to make different, but not us PvP'ers?
Though I'm not in the opinion that it should be made so people can't take from what "belongs to others" wrecks. A simple kill right, and an aggresion for docking/jumping would be a cheerfull arrangement.
To say a wreck that come from a ship you shoot, arent rightfully yours are just a load of crap. How can you even say something in the area that it's still his own.
PS: A little nice change could also be the undocking/docking timer could be a bit longer then it is today.

Um, if they killed the person in PvP, didnĘt they already work for it? Maybe you have the misconception that all PvP is like killing NPC's? Tbh, thats how we got can flagging and such, carebare's posting about it.
This is not a problem for any one corp or alliance. I can almost guarantee you any person that has fought in Empire has had this issue. So, do not try to make this a Privateers thread.
To the people that say I have no rights to my kill: I went to all the trouble to take the person out, if he was an NPC I would own the wreak, so why would I not own the PvP wreak?
To the people that say loot faster: Obviously you've never tried this, or are a thief yourself. Maybe this would be doable if there wasn't 5 noob corp guys in fast ships following you around, or sitting at a station waiting for someone to die. Fact is, when I kill someone in a big system, I'm one of maybe 4 or 5 people trying to get the loot.
For people that think this is a whine over a cheap gank: I started this thread after going head to head with a full T2 fitted crow in a full T1 fitted Cormorant and killing him. Then having a noob corp pack that was following me loot the wreak, since I was at my optimal, me getting to the loot just wasnĘt gonna happen.

I'm confused.. Why not just shoot the people stealing from you? If you can easly take out those "fast" ships, you should be ablt to take out noob ships quickly.

As someone said, and as pretty much every privateer says, "OMG LRN2ADAPT!!11". Bring a friend in a fast ship.

And actually - i would flag cans to both parties (if possible) - killed person and killer. This way winner can take all cans and shoot loot thieves. Atm only loser can defend his cans from loot stealers...

I really wouldnt worry about it dude, after the patch goes through today and they nerf nano ships you guys arent gonna be abel to kill anything anyways. But seriously i know its your only source of income but this is just where your little scheme of decing every alliance in the game falls apart. If you want to gain through real piracy then you should follow the examples of real pirates and stick to low sec. What do you expect to happen when you sit in Jita ganking haulers?
I dont think ccp will listen to ya anyways. It would be insanity to alter the entire game mechanics to benefit a very small group of people that arent playing the game how they intended anyway.

I find this thread highly ironic coming from a Privateer.
And lol @ all the Privateers /signing.
I'm sorry, but sitting outside Jita 4-4 ganking people before their screen even loads doesn't entitle you to free loot.
I think it's perfectly fine the way it is as the person who just died can come kill the looter, no? To quote the famous words of the Privateers themselves... "learn to adapt"

NPC's are bountied and as such the right to collect their belogings is given to the people hunting them as incentive to encourage removal of the vile scum.
So to be fair if you kill someone with a bounty who is in a location where it is legal to hunt them without a wardec then I'd say you should get such looting rights.
For simple wardecs though you are merely engaging in empire war and concord feels no need to encourage you to kill your enemies by allowing you to shoot honest salvagers just trying to make a buck so they can buy some more beer!
