It's a button next to route search that generates a path to a random point in known space.
Roll the dice and go for an adventure. These random points may be based off existing player bookmarks (k-space only).

How it works: -Push the random route button. -Server pulls random player made bookmark location (k-space) -Client auto-generates route to that bookmark (No description data for original bookmark is given to person who pushed random route button. No names and no player made notes are given.) -Player can journey to that location or reroll another route.
Why spend time on this feature? New Eden is a big place both for new and veteran players. A random route button can give people a little jolt and get out and explore. It can kickstart outlandish player stories in encounters with new friends and enemies on this roam to deciding where to set down stakes for a citadel.
Basing random generated routes off existing (k-space) player made bookmarks would add to the dynamic involved in exploration.

Seems like a pretty niche function that 99.9% of players will never use.
But you can already build that functionality into the game yourself (at least to a random celestial or station) with a 3rd-party application via CREST which can set your autopilot route now. It doesn't even seem like it would be too difficult to code up.

Then again could just get to your nearest Thera Hole(https://www.eve-scout.com/) and then grab a random hole from there, It's a tad more random and reliable. |

I choose to believe that you are suggesting a button that picks a random station or celestial somewhere in EvE and sets it as your destination.
Sounds kind of neat. Probably won't be used much, but still neat. |

wow, the word "random" getting thrown around like so much cheap confetti. If it's pulling your destination from a predefined set of locations (your bookmarks), it's not really random, is it. Or novel, for that matter, because it's somewhere you've already been before. |

Or you know, instead of asking CCP for this you could just randomly choose a gate and off you go. Got more than one gate roll a dice, flip a coin, or print out a list of all the systems in EvE, put then in a bowl and draw one out.
While I like the idea of just randomly warping around to see what you can seen, in the end I am not a fan of CCP wasting dev time to put it into the game because it is not likely to be a feature used by many people. |

What I intended to convey is all player bookmarks (k-space), not just your own. Yes, you may inadvertently wander into another player's deep safe.
It's up for discussion whether the creator's name and bookmark details would be given (e.g. bookmark is saved in a temporary people & places folder that is overwritten when player hits the random route button again). To reiterate, this random bookmark dispersal only applies to k-space bookmarks.

Sounds kind of neat. Probably won't be used much, but still neat. Yeah, random stations, celestials and landmarks would be a good fit for a 'I'm feeling lucky' button.
