People, I need your help to prove a silly point. I think we can clog all the >= .5 labs in the game for a full year if we all pitch in.
A month of R&D costs about a million ISK. For a few million and some cheapie ammo BPOs you can make newbies like me look upon the BPO research queues and wail with despair (well, MORE despair) -- but only if we work together.
I did my part -- clogged 9 months worth of material research 30 days at a time. A new engineer starts with lab operation 5, so a fresh alt would work for this effort.
How about you? Come on, you know you want to see 356+ day wait times on labs!
p.s. the more paranoid among you expect me to be running an empire research POS. Nope. Not for another few months at the earliest, anyway. And if I was, I'd have more business than I could handle even with current one month queues. So this is purely a fun organizational excercise.

ah... tricky. So this is your way of getting ccp to add more slots? Only thing this will do is get you banned if you are telling the truth...lol.
They have the slots limited for a reason and by you clogging them and trying to get others to "clog" them you will get yourself banned.
However, if you are only saying this in order to get a negative reaction from people, getting them to petition and create bug reports so that ccp increases the amount of slots well, it appears very transparent and will also get you banned cause you are causing "undue workload on GM's answering petitions".

Why would this get you banned? It's just market pvp.

Filling up slots for the sake of filling up slots or to harm the system intentionally is griefing.
And unlike all those "griefing" piewats that CCP allegedly allow, you actually WILL get in trouble for this -----

I wonder how much you will wail when they ban your account or handing you a warning for exploiting the system.
Intentionally to take up slots, just for the sake of taking up slots are misuse of game mechanics.

The reason why labs get these kind of added days even when canceling a job is to prevent people from claiming slots (like it used to be when you had to pay rent for labs and then it would be yours forever till you forgot to pay the rent).
GM's have said that adding to this time intentionally to clog up lab slots is a warnable / bannable offence depending on how serieus you have been busy. Not only that but it also kills off the new player their chances to be able to compete with older players (or atleast those that allready have their bpo's researched) on a sgort term.
Current state of this is allready sad enough without people deliberately adding more days to the query backlog and encourageing to get ccp to create more lab slots by adding onto this query will only harm the playerbase because it has been repeatedly stated this wont be done.
It is allready bad enough with the huge intake from the new bpo's who alot of people have been researching (prior to new battleships / battlecruisers lab backlog was arround 11 days, afterwards it jumped 100% to 22 - 26 days and is now almost arround a full month allready). Even lowsec labs have huge backlogs arround 20-24 days which is i confirm a sad state of affairs.
Anyway this topic is soon to be locked, the gm's will soon start inquerying your account and possibly warn you or place a solid ban on your account. Good bye and please don't come back!

Ok, these responses are mindboggling. You can try to corner the market, except where we don't want you to?
What kind of a sandbox is THAT?
Buying up all the resources in a region would also be griefing by your definition.
At this point I'd like some proof or STFU where this kind of action was deemed bannable/warnable. Not that I want to start an argument, I can read it in those threads.
Thanks.

Any empire worth its capitalistic salt would expand its capacity to meet the huge demand and make huge profits...
They could quite easily double the capacity and still have a 10-15 day waiting time.

Hmm, I haven't come across this undocumented game rule yet.
Is it bannable only to exploit the lab unleasing mechanic?
Or also for well endowed corporations to set redundant bpos researching for months in every station they can access?
OP doesn't seem to suggest anything like the former on review.
