Hi there, in regards of how recent in-game events were held, I would like to point out a few things loot stealing/ target stealing is a thing, yeah sure you can shoot the suspect but at what cost? do u think a t1 cr would dare to shoot a t3 cr for stealing loot? or do u think a t1 cr can kill-steal target while t3 is already in event site? because most of the time what happened is ppl with better ship warps in kill-steal the target or just steal the loot then warps away ->and newb WITH t1 thorax HAVE to thank ppl for not stealing their target/loot ?! (what?)<- aren't we supposed to give everyone a fair chance to complete the event even if they need 10 mins+ to complete a single site? now I don't know if ccp considers PotT event an competitive event or an open event for all career at all skill level, now come to think about it daily skill point is probably the most career-friendly one. now some suggestion for PotT or similar event: 1. site beacon is off once someone touch the grid and the site is tagged for erase if player left 2. instead of placing reward on a object or ship, on grid players are rewarded with token/lp, 3. rewards can not be traded(whoa) 4. site reward is given to player with most damage dealt / kills or spends most time in site. |

Eve is a competitive game. If you can do it in eve, expect it to be competitive. |

there are more than a lot of completely dead systems. I've run a lot of these sites when I'm the only person in local.

I did 6 sites today in a single system located 5 jumps away from Amarr. So it ain't exactly hard to find empty systems.
Also as previously mentioned, EVE is a competitive game, so no, you cannot have your private event sites. |

I got all the skins i wanted out of low sec, save for one in HighSec when i was moving to a focus. Like dude at top of the forum there said it is a competitive game, Get away from busy areas or head into more dangerous space and you'll find the reward miraculously goes up. its almost like +Risk = +Reward

I understand the population in M/A space is rather small and I was circling around their border, you knew something is not right when a t1 cr pilot thanks me for not stealing their site and the other one rewards me with some isk for not being an thief. however I would like to hear someone who did event site with t1 cr meta 1 fit, a competitive event does not equal to promote stealing, future events can reward players based on the time they finished a site. EvE is more than just a competitive game, eve got a little bit of everything in it and that's why some of us never actually left |

I have seen waaaaaaaaaay more suspect people flying about than usual and that's a good thing in my book.
The last one was yer grindy MMO experience and it sucked the "unmentionables" this one is a little bit more EVE and I cannot resist them because of this.
Though I should probably stop flyinging a big scary Eos, I imagine that's why I'm not getting what I'm looking for (hint: it isn't skins).

The only thing that needs doing to event sites is the same thing that needs doing to all Anoms & Sigs.
Make them bigger, use the space of the new grids with a variety of 'structures' on the grid at on grid warp distances apart, and each structure has it's own objective, and projects some effect onto the entire grid. This allows people to co-operate to a degree, or compete as they wish for the various objectives.
As each objective is completed the sites count down timer gets shorter & shorter, the idea being a single pilot won't be able to do all the objectives on their own, but will be able to do enough to feel rewarded. If you do just one and warp off, the rest will linger for several hours. If you do half of them as a gang, and warp off for some reason, it will only be another 5-10 minutes before the site despawns.
And when a site despawns have it despawn with a sudden 'undock' of ships from all the remaining structures, that then warp off in 5-30 seconds and the structures then self destruct in an AOE damage. So it looks like a real evacuation of the site, and you get a last chance to snipe a few ships if you want to risk staying on grid. Or a chance to warp off yourself to avoid the explosion.
TLDR version. Sites should be big, feel alive, and feel real. |
