I think there should be visual bigger Asteroids in a anomaly belt and probably more Asteroids but smaller in amount of ore units.
The reason why i ask for this is more a psychological reason. If i warp to an anomaly belt it looks like there is just nothing if im on the wrong Overview. Also It is more easy for a miner to stay on his task if he see the progress of his work not only as an abstract number of isk and ore ammount. He should also see his progress with the Belt shrinking while he mine it.
For example the Large belt. On the Old Layout the Asteroids was visual Huge they also had a big amount of ore but you defintly seen it if a asteriod was depleted. Now there is just a white dot disapearing because the roids are so tiny.
Sorry for my bad english^^ |

I find if I hold my blankee, while sucking my thumb and twirling my hair I can stare at my mining laser beam longer without drifting off into a coma-like trance. That has the virtue of not requiring any coding.

you can d that in high sec but in 0.0 forget it.. Faceless Ronins love Miners like you mentioned. |

Asrteroids are actually pretty big -- it's just that the space surrounding them is so huge that they seem to be tiny in comparison. All you've got to do is let your sensors update you with informative visuals in the interface. Include asteroids into brackets, and the problem is solved.
And a friendly reminder: marvelling at roids is undoubtedly a nice pastime, but dont forget to check local and dscan regularly and acknowledge the presence of the Agents of the New Order of Highsec nearby. Like any other activity in highsec, gazing at space rocks also requires a mining permit, so make sure you have one. |

let me guess you never have seen an Large belt since the Anomaly belts got a rework.
here a hint. Before rework http://i.imgur.com/KEuhq7o.jpg

Visually I absolutely agree. The ones after the rework look very underwhelming.
Be careful what you wish for though: if you have ever mined the big ones (150k spod and crokite) with mining drones, you know that it takes ages until the drones return to the ship because they orbit the huge roid while mining. I suppose that'll be the same with the new capital mining drones for the Rorqual, so your ISK/h would be a lot lower if roids in anoms return to their original size.

Ok thats a Point. I personaly don't use Mining drones because i need Combat Drones to Kill the Rats. |

The new visuals, to copy ED, rather suck imo and give it a dirty look rather than a vibrant look imo but I realize they were mostly tossed together at the last minute by CCP for "effect".
I do agree with the OP that the belts need to be more 'full' in nature but splitting them into smaller interactable roids isnt the way Id go about it. Id add clutter sure and have it be of the nature of adding in the crap ores from the mining missions and naming them something akin to the ore in question ( this would be to combat bots in some way) and make the roids mineable but worthless to refine. Like one trit or something like this. This would allow CCP to put more actual content and spread roids around into these worthless roids without too much extra coding as everything is already in game for the most part minus the layout of the new anom fields themselves.
This means miners would have to hunt a bit more for the stuff they are looking for and if made in such a way as to be highly undistinguishable other than intuitive tools would mean that mining bots would be in a decline and add some actual human level skills to mining itself. The location of good ores within new fields could be literally changed, so that the fields when spawned themselves could be a variety of sizes or shapes or even be an algorithm to create it in the first place so EACH new belt would be unique but still carry the same amount and variety of ores.
So take Veldspar
Dense Veldspar Concentrated Veldspar Veldspar
Then theres Bandine. Its a type of Veldspar found only in mining missions. It is useless and there are NO market entries for it because its solely a mission completion item.
By making ALL veldspar return the name 'Veldspar' in your overview you cannot easily distinguish between these 4 types of ore unless you lock and perhaps scan the roid itself in question in some way to ascertain its actual composition. A rework of Survey Scanners or an onboard scanner of some sort might be handy here, but the only real requirement is that this process now actually takes some human intuitive skill in some way to parse. From this return you know if what your looking at is actually worth mining or the crap Bandine to leave.
The downside is that now ALL mining anoms will NOT expire and respawn when the last roid is mined as there will be crap roids always left as they will all last their full cycle times. This means that those who see an anom will not know until they actually scan if there is something left of value and those that hunt the most efficient/fastest/etc, especially given the new non static field formations, will actually benefit from better yields over time.
So I do agree that fields need to be more visually large, especially given the new grid sizes without being just 'cloud' style clutter.
Have you heard anything I've said?
You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?
That's right.
Had to end sometime.

Bloody hell even the Goons had the balls to move out of hi-sec for their antics.
