I recently had some video card problem, forcing me to reinstall windows along with a crapy ATI 9200 SE video card. I now have Windows XP with SP2 installed from scratch, along with drivers for the video card.
Now, when I try to open EVE, it loads, but I cant see it on my desktop. when I click on the corresponding icon in the taskbar, it just appears to minimize then maximize but it remains invisible.
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance!

Do you have mulitple desktops activated? The Eve client is perhaps displayed outside your default desktop. Right-clik the icon in the taskbar and select the Move option. Then without moving your mouse left-click THEN and drag. Hopefully your eve-client window will turn up. Just an idea.

I have the same problem on my laptop, one day the client just seemed to disappear. I had a look into the multiple monitor idea, as I sometimes do use multiple monitors, but the client does not appear on any of them. I tried to 'move' the window as suggested, but because the client is not visible it ca'nt be selected to be moved. Any more ideas?

I have the exact same problem with eve on a desktop. I am running a newly rebuilt XP pro with sevice pack 2 with a ATI Radeon9250 card, this hardware/software combo used to work. I get the splash screen and then it goes to the log in section its then it disapears.
I have tried a complete reinstall for eve along with patching the graphics drivers.
Then I try and more the eve application my mouse is placed at the top left of the screen and I cannot grab hold of the eve window as its off the screen. This machine only ever had one monitor attached so its not been setup on an exteneded desktop (the re-install of eve should resolve this anyway) I have run the log file and there are several items that look like error or warning messages, I will be bug reporting it in a few minutes.
