dear ccp,
i have been scouring the internet for 3 hours now as well as scoured the forums. and i need to know the answer from a DEV.
will we be able to jump clone to a wormhole that has a citadel with a clone bay? ever? from k-space to j-space and vice versa.
i ask this because i think you should be able to, think about it. WH space is kinda dying there isn't very many WH corps anymore. and it kinda seems silly for a WH corp to be completely stuck in a WH because if you leave you'll never get back. (like when a WH collapses) so its difficult to actually get to your WH after an event like this happens. |

no
WH isn't dying but this would kill it as it would become near impossabe to siege. if you want ease of movement head to null
and for the love of god have ppl leave scanning alts in the hole so you don't get locked out

Not saying I agree with leaving Jump Clones, but Alt gameplay is not good gameplay. This perhaps could use some form of addressing in other ways rather than hours of RNG rolling if you have a friendly citadel in a WH you are rolling for. This would stop hours of annoying repetitive grinding just because you don't have an alt in the hole during non attack periods, while still meaning that you have to actually fly back into the WH so a force can be set up inside it and catch you in bubbles on your approach to the citadel.
Basically, alts should not be virtually mandatory gameplay for any activity. |

you don't need to use an alt you can use a friend i just figured if this guy gets regularly locked out he must not have many

Not a dev but I can confirm that this is, at current, not possible. When that changes I'm sure they'll make an announcement, because that'd be headline news.
For the moment we just park a scanner alt in there. Just in case. |

What do you mean it is not possible? it is plenty possible but was decided against same with med clones in wh.
JC would allow large entities to control many different WH systems efficiently

That's how you are supposed to live in an area without stable system-to-system connection, aka within the gate network. You cannot just run around willyGÇônilly without taking precautions for getting back to your base. This added level of effort and unpredictability is what WH makes different from K-Space.

-1 because choices and consequences. Limited access to the rest of the EvE Universe is one of the consequences for living in a worm hole. If that restricted access to the rest of the EvE Universe is bothering you then move out of your worm hole.

You are not a dev yet you know for a fact that it is impossible for us to clone jump into or out of a worm hole? Perhaps you can provide a link to where this little nugget of wisdom comes from? I do not know how they do this but as a programmer it would seem that the whole process of moving a character into or out of a worm hole is not that much different from moving that character from Jita to Dodxie and we can do that. As characters there are access restrictions forced on us by game code, to the servers those restrictions do not exist. |

They already said that jumpclones to W-space will not become a thing, lore wise they justified it saying that W-space lands outside of clone broadcasting ranges therefore making it impossible to transfer the required "Data".
Logically speaking within the game mechanics that effect us however it makes evicting players from wormholes that much more difficult when you can pod someone and they just jump back and grab another ship or take command of their citadel's target-management.

I live in one. We thought it'd be cool, we tried it. Didn't work.
Not saying it can't programatically be done, just saying that at current, in the game, you cannot jump in or out of your WH by jumpclone. |
