Since yesterday's patch, I have sold 3 items on the Contracts and the deposit isn't refunded. I have petitioned this, no response so far.

Edited by: Code Monkey on 24/03/2007 00:18:14 I can verify that there is a problem that the wallet journal log does not reflect the refunded deposit but the money is in fact refunded. For successful auction contracts you will see it as a discrepancy between the Contract Price and Contract Sales Tax journal entries (f.ex. Contract Price: 500K Balance: 900K -- [nothing] -- Contract Sales Tax: -10K Balance: 990K signifying an unlogged 100K deposit refund).
This will be fixed in the next few days and the journal entries should appear. |

I've had the same problem with 10 contracts. I've verified this with other players and confirmed that I was not the only one experiencing this.
I also noticed that the Broker Fee and Sales Tax do not seem to be reported or calculated correctly in regards to contracts.
This is for both Auctions and Item Exchange types of contracts posted by an individual - not corp.

I went back and checked this in detail and the running total indicates that the ISK just isn't being returned. The Balance in my Wallet matches that in the journal. So if it is being returned and it isn't showing in the journal or the balance, then I can't use it and it works out to the same as it not being returned.
Please fix this!!!!

We've looked over your journal entries for the past three days and every one of your successful contracts did refund collateral of 100K each.

I do humbly apologise. After taking screenshots and going over the figures to prove my point, I realized that you are correct on the 100K deposit being refunded but not detailed in the journal. I guess I need new glasses.
The other issues regarding the Broker fee and the Sales Tax still apply. Should these be getting skill-based discounts? I have Broker Relations L4 and Accounting L4. Yet for a 1.0mil ISK contract, I am being charged 16,500.00 ISK for broker fees and 10,000.00 for Sales Tax.
When I go to confirm the creation of a new contract, the broker fee depends on the length of time for the item to be listed: 1 day "10,000.00 (minimum)" 3 days "11,000.00 (0.42%)" 1 week "13,000.00 (0.62%)" 2 weeks "16,500.00 (0.97%)"
0.97% of 1,000,000.00 = 9,700.00 ISK, not 16,500.00 ISK <-- what am I missing here?
The sales tax shows "10,000.00 (0.6%)" for any length of time selected. The '0.6%' doesn't make any sense to me in relation to the 10,000.00 being charged. Aren't I supposed to get a discount on sales tax because of the Accounting L4 skill? (that would be where the 0.6% comes from, after all) Shouldn't I be charged only 6,000.00 for this transaction?
If there is a method / reason to this that I am unaware of, please let me know. I really don't want to waste your time and I do like most of the things that have been added / changed.

Someone finally pointed me in the direction of the Knowledgebase article on Contracts.
Contracts Knowledgebase
<sarcasm>Wow! Documentation in Eve! Who'da'thunk it?!?</sarcasm>
Ok - I've read it, and worked through the twisted accounting neccessary to come up with the figures that are being charged in my example.
Comments: 1) The percentages shown by the final screen while creating a contract are NOT correct for small ISK related contracts. Please replace all percentages with the word "Minimum" when the minimum is being charged or used for computation - not just in the case of 1 day contracts. 2) Minimum Sales Tax is not reduced by the Skill Accounting. Please replace the percentage shown with the word "Minimum" when the minimum sales tax amount is due.
The two suggestions above would have cleared up a lot of confusion for me.
I'm sorry to have bothered you with this when you have so many other matters to deal with. I wish the interface had been clearer, then I would not have suspected the entire contracts system as being bugged.
For the record, I like the Contract system a whole lot better than the old escrow system. The options for finding things is great. I only ran into problems when I started selling things. I do not like how high the fees are for small items.
If I can't sell certain small items on market (BPC's) and have to price them with such high fees for contracts - ouch.
Thanks for the work and I'll go crawl under a rock again and stop bothering you.
