Ah, but if we had the mechanics of the game explained to us... even in general terms with no math, then we would be able to figure out what is feature and what is bug.
All the bugs that have been seen have been reported dozens of times, knowing them isn't the problem. CCP just doesn't have the capability or the willingness to fix them and perhaps that's why documenting the game properly is so unattractive too.

Randomizing is one of the hardest things to do for a computer. The fighters must follow some kind of protocol/algorithm. You and I just donĘt know it yet how it works. Random is simply impossible from a programmatically perspective.
EVE is special in this regard. Everything drone related is genuine randomness. -

Good pseudorandom streams are effectively random; you cannot predict them nor tell they aren't actually random unless you know the seed and algorithm used to produce them.

Then you have obviously never flown drones in game. I promise you, the only thing you know for sure is that they will do something stupid. As to WHAT stupid thing they choose to do, it's a toss-up.

But that kinda thing would never happen!
Indeed, CCP devs would never become invloved in some kind of thing in where information/blueprints/etc,etc would be made available via them to only a select group. This is why the rest of the eve players ( US ) dont need documenation. Because there are simply NO players in eve that have benefits like these. So the lack of documentation does not change this brilliant and clean status quo.

If the mothership (as in host ship, not literal mothership) gets aggressed (somebody not previously activating a hostile module on you commences to do so) while fighters are idle, they will automatically engage. Engaging the fighter itself should prompt the same behavior but only from that one fighter IIRC. And again, only when idle.
2. Range to the target. Once within range they will turn off their MWDs. Hence funny MWDing behaviour. They do all have identical topspeeds within the same class of fighter launched from the same carrier and I've personally never seen them not all MWD at a target that was far enough away in countless engagements involving fighters.
Fighters will not engage their MWD to return to the carrier, period. Returning them quickly requires working around that limitation.
3. That question is too vague and makes no sense.
