Seems most times I leave it unattended for 5 minutes, when I come back it s utterly unresponsive and after a few clicks here and there dropps me back to desktop with the message connection lost.
Sometimes it can sit unattended for an hour and be instantly responsive when I get back.
Using it to chat to corpies etc sitting in station seem to make it time out as well many times.

Raketenkaese,
On occasion I see the same thing happening. I'm fixing an accusatory glair at my wireless network. I'm thinking, maybe, it's dropping and reinitialising while I'm away so connectivity seems ok when I get back but EvE has had the rug pulled from under it.
In truth, I don't know, but I thought you might like to know that you are not the only one.

I have this EXACT same problem.
I've confirmed its not my internet connection dropping out etc - because I'll be on MSN, Poker or surfing the internet.
I play some other online games like WoW etc - and I never had/have this problem with them either.

sorry I dont get that problem, has to do with your connection. it would take a miracle to make miners step away from roids can switch them, rob them, scam them, buy bellow market from them, war dec them, pirate them on their way to sell minerals, make it less pr |

I get this somtimes, but only when docked. When I'm in space I will stay online and connected no matter how long I leave things idle.

Number of threads about this on this forum. No one solution yet, but I've so far tried different computer, different router, different modem and still get the same problem.
Note also the problem crops up on other games that need a constant connection like CS:S

Had this problem a lot until I moved my pc into the dmz zone on my router.
Not sure why eve does this as I have played loads of other games and didn't have this happen. |

It happens for me too but i dont think it has enything to do with my connection to the internet , cos i run two clients on the same box and its only one that randomly disconnects.

I have the same problem. I get disconnected as soon as I enter a station for more than 10 seconds... Also flying over a long distance, activation of gate and lag will cause my internet to turn off.

If you tried clicking on the market tab and it does not pop up. It seems youl crash because of a very long timeout.

If you run any type of firewall/router/cheapo gadget thingie that uses stateful inspection firewalling (as opposed to straight packet filtering) then the state table will stale the Eve connection and cause a timeout. So you can switch it out, set up a dedicated rule or use some other various keep alive technique to fix the problem.
It has nothing to do with CCP so don't blame them. If anything thank them for optimizing the client to be less 'chatty' when it comes to network resources.

I was getting this problem when in quite systems were there was no chat in local. I found by acident that by adding a busy chat channel (macrointel in my case) to my display it stopped disconnecting.
Something about the client is having to carry out updates keeps it active or pure chance?

I run up to five clients on five computers. Was constantly getting disconnects.
I found that joining a busy market channel like the modules and munitions(minimize it) solved all the problems. IF you get into a heavy battle, just close the channel.

Yes, I can concur this has happened much more to me recently. Not sure if it's some sort of anti-idling code introduced. I haven't pinned it down to anything in particular yet.

I get this as well, and usually it's the same particular account that crashes.
