Yesterday we killed a guy in a 0.4 system. He had a bad standing but was not a wartarget, so next to getting security standing loss, i noticed an entry at the "kill rights folder", showing this guy has killright on me that expires in one month.
Today i logged in and looked on the "kill rights"-folder again: but there was only a "no entrys" text. The kill-rights entry from yesterday has disappeared somehow.
So what's the deal, is there a way the killright have expired after one day (e.g. because this guy has forgiven me or something) - or is it simply a bug, which make people feel secure (as they think noone has killrights upon them) so they may get a bad surprise when flying around in empire afk ?

I've noticed this too. Very confusing because I check this after a kill where my victim didn't return fire, and he's there, but the guy who was on there yesterday isn't! __________________________________________________

someone mentioned it's todo with the guy getting podded, or jump cloning and the killrights don't follow to the clone... although when he jumps back to the original clone the killrights return.
So better to keep an eye on them so you don't get a nasty surprise Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected]) |

'Kill Rights' are when you pop someone, and they didnt return fire. For the next month, they can engage you anywhere, anytime, without reprisal from CONCORD.

Yes, killrights are fairly bugged.
In one instance the "pirate" didn't see the killright and died in highsec, and in another instance the "victim" didn't see the killright that had been awarded to him while the "pirate" did. This is the kind of dangerous stuff that will be fixed in a year or two, much like the borked overview backgrounds and client-server capacitor desynching. ------ When you say "no one's perfect", Chuck Norris takes this as a personal insult.
