Hi, can anyone confirm this ?
If I accept a mission that involves warping in to an immediate aggro situation can I use my pod to bookmark a spot, ie the rats will not attack me in a pod.
Scenario; Accept mission Fly in pod to acceleration gate Jump gate into potential rat aggro Fly 40/50 Km from rats and bookmark Return to station and get in ship Undock and fly straight to bookmark Kill stuff

The rats will not attack you in your pod.
However, when you warp back to the mission area you will end up at the first acceleration gate instead of the bookmark you just made.

Edited by: Ashira Twilight on 23/03/2007 21:01:42 If there is an acceleration gate, that's deadspace and bookmarking with a pod won't work anyway.
Also, DON'T eject from your ship, someone could(low chance, but meh) steal your ship. Do it in a shuttle, their cheap and fast enough that you should be able to get out with it.
OH, and just make a bookmark as soon as you get to the beacon. Do that and warp to 100km or 70km or whatever. ------------------------------- The opinions reflected in this post DO reflect the opinions of my corp...of one guy and a bunch of alts. |

If it's not a deadspace area, you don't need a BM in the first place - just warp to 100km with your ship and be done with it . Unless you want to get even further than 100km but I don't see why you'd want that.

Well yesterday i warped to 100km and ended on beacon anyway right in midle of rats, maked BM and warped back at 100km from BM. Missin was Damsel in distres, so you not allways warp on 100km even if you try.

Hmm, I have tried warping to 100km on some missions without using my pod first, and it worked (before revelations 1.4, though). In other missions where I wasn't sure I could tank them and didn't want to take the risk, I did use the pod trick, so maybe some of these were like that Damsel in distress one?
In any case, if you first warp in with your pod, you will end up in the middle of them and everything will be spawned around that center point. So even without making a BM, if you warp away and come in your ship, you should be able to warp to 100 this time.

The Damsel in Distress is a bit of an exception, the first time you warp in it you'll always "warp to zero", even if you wanted a "warp to 100 kms", but after that you can warp out and warp back in at your chosen range ...
