hail, fellow pilots. the idea is simple - since eve's server finally able to pull decent traffic, it might be time to reconsider bringing back large amount of drones to control. and we can start with gallente - giving them much needed boost with additional drones to operate. instead of 5, it could be possible to launch 7-10 drones at same time. giving much needed edge over other races.

How about a module that goes in a highslot that allows for another drone to be active, to a maximum of 5 extra drones (5 modules) Real Caldari Hull Tank (And Win doing so) Support https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=16580 |

Edit: I wrote a text and forgot to say that i expanded over Tarn's idea.
Don't forget that the drone bonuses for Gallente has to stay balanced with the Caldari missile bonuses.
However, i do agree that missiles do seems to have an edge over drones, even though theyre supposed to be equivalent weapons. I mean, just look at the christmas presents: they gave missiles but no drones at all even though missiles are wasted as much isk wise as drones are (drones can be shot at and lost as well after all).
One major problem is that missiles uses the same ship fitting space as guns (CPU, PW and high slots), but drones dont. They only do if you decide to fit drone bonus modules like the drone link augmentor.
What could be done here, though, is that drone boats could be able to use special high slot modules that let the ship uses a specified amount of additionnal drones like 1 drone per modules, or even 2 if we take out the actual drone system.
Cause right now, what limits the use of drones is that you can actually use guns to support them, unlike missiles. I mean, if your drones are attacking a ship really far and a frigate come in and attack or tackle you really close, blasters or railguns come in handy. The problem with this though is that missiles do the same damage, whatever the distance.
The solution to this is already said though. You could send 5 drones to attack a ship thats far and keep another 5 for defense. To compensate, they could add slots to missile boats so that they can use some more missiles that they could divide between the far targets and the close ones.
I do understand that if they implement these, the Amarr and Minmattar needs to get the same kinds of bonuses as well (Minmattar with missiles and Amarr with drones). |

Blob will grow until lag is again achieved. Therefore, there should be more drones and less goons. |

No. The problem is that it just adds load to the servers without adding anything but "Hey mom, look: more drones!" Never mind that when the drone changes were made drones were changed too. Their HP and DPS were increased, keeping damage about the same while increasing smartbomb resilience. Fewer, stronger drones also are more cost effective if you loose your drones.
The only exception might be a marauder domi, but I would much rather have a 20% bonus to DPS and HP. Your drones would effectively be buffer tanked, increasing their survival chances.

Especially since it'd be balanced out by existing bandwidth. I'd also like to see a highslot module that gives more bandwidth, btw. say 5 for meta 0, 25 for T2, with metas 1-4 adding 5 per? |

boosting drone dps is easier way to do the same thing, which will put less lag in the game as well
