My trial is over and I have bought me my first month. Since I¦m mining right now and finally capable of getting those industrial skills for my Badger II hauler. Questions:
Is it normal to have to skill up for 10 days to get Caldari industrial 3? Found it a bit steep. I have learning skill 3 and I¦m told this is very important to maximize in order to learn future skills faster. Is this true? Once I get the caldari industrial skill 3 I need for my Badger II hauler....What would you fit in it to start with? Shields, extra armor, some defense, tractor beam? Any pointers?
Thanks...a great community

Welcome to world of eve.
I am a fellow miner so might be able to give some suggestions.
Depending on your attributes (perc, willpower, etc) it could take that long to train cal indy 3. You might want to consider training up learning to level 4 and working on some basic learning skills to increase your attributes which will in turn reduce the training times on skills that are affected by those attributes.
Once you get your Badger II I would suggest filling up the low slots with cargo expanders. A shield extender, shield booster, and an afterburner in the mid slots. The size and need of the extender and booster are dependant on the security level of the areas you will be hauling through. A tractor beam would be a good item for the high slot so you can pull in the cargo containers without having to fly over to them.
Im still fairly new compared to many in the world of eve but in my mining and hauling experience these are some fo the things I have learned.
Hope they help out.

I agree that they are excessive. Try training up your learning skills (spatial awareness and iron will specifically) and you should see your training times drop a bit. Just to give you an idea, my perception is 13 and willpower is 15 and my training time for lvl 4 is around 3 days.

Thanks for the badger advise...I did not know I should get me an afterburner..I thought that for slow vessels like the ones I will be flying such things would be useless and not make any real difference.

First, welcome to EVE! And yes, welcome to the migraine-inducing EVE font. If you haven't already, I'd go into settings and select the 'wide' option.
Training all of the learning skills as much as you can stand will reduce training times for everything else in the game.
Also, once you have a decent bankroll you might look into implants. There are implants available (missions or the market) that will boost your stats anywhere from +1 to +5, and that translates into shorter training times.
Just remember that implants can't be removed without destroying them, and getting your pod destroyed will also cost you the implants, so there's a risk involved for that reward.
Good Luck, ~Tut

Get hooked up with EveMon, on Battleclinic.com. Once you start to use this tool you won't want to be without it. You will find out quickly just how important the Learning skills are. EveMon gives suggestions for nearly all your training paths to speed things up and they are always learning related.
Also, if you ever plan to join a 0.0 Corp as a miner, you will need to train combat skills as well. Regardless of what they may say, any 0.0 corp/alliance WILL require you to drop what you're doing and jump in a combat ready ship to go hunting or whatever. One corp I was in {TOS} even made a swing through the system once to kill miners that did not join a hunting exercise. You can be a PVP'er only with no industrial skills but you can not be a miner with no PVP skills. No Respect!!
