I noticed Steam talks about streaming it's game to another PC. I was wondering has anyone done this with eve?
Currently, I use the remote desktop to do basic stuff in eve while I'm watching TV in the other room. If there is a better option then remote desktop or steam? |

You could use Microsoft Terminal Server with RemoteFX and a decent GPU, this way you can even stream and play EVE on your smartphone / tablet any other PC or inside the browser
It's pretty cool.
From remote PVP or other graphics heavy stuff would be a pain, in the local network it doesn't matters.
Can I haz you're stuff?

I use Chrome Remote Desktop for this. Desktop to desktop it's fine. It takes some getting used to from a phone, but easy enough that I can update market orders, etc.

I use a PCoIP TERA2240 Hostcard and Vmware Horizon Software to play on another PC if i want it. It also possible to use this software on Smartphones or WebBroser ( with 60fps ). But ... this software is really expensive.
You can also try Google Chrome Remote. I am sure this will work too. |

I do this from time to time. My main computer is an iMac,which happens to be the only display device in my house. I also have a good Windows pc sitting around at a corner (no monitor, no kb, no mouse..I just RDP into the machine to do stuff). Sometimes when the Mac client gives me a trouble (after patch, etc) I just stream from the Windows pc to my Mac using the Steam In-Home streaming.
Of course RDP solution works as others have said, but I find the Steam solution the best in terms of graphic and sound qualities. Heck I even play Overwatch at the highest setting using this setup.
Too bad, though, CCP is going to disallow launching the game from the exe file. Steam In-Home streaming sucks at handling launchers |
