When I first started playing EVE, ages back and some time in Beta when mining lasers wouldnÆt mine, I remember the feeling of awe I felt. I just sat there in an asteroid belt and thought how a bunch of programmers from Iceland had impressed me almost as much as a couple of Cambridge guys did when they squeezed a wire frame graphics space game into 32k.
I looked left, I looked right, up, down, everywhere and thought ôsheesh, space is beautiful. It really, really is. These guys have done a fantastic jobö.
It must have been something, when those guys got their asteroid belts coded. I can imagine them sitting there in their development meeting just nodding. Yup, good job. WeÆve done the best job we could have done.
I wonder how they would have reacted at the time to someone walking into their meeting and saying that in the future they would write code to cover the whole place in little yellow box thingies.
Devsà..cry more..

William, are you saying that ctrl->tab removes the anchored cargo containers? If so then thanks for sharing, that's great news. It'll be great to warp into a belt and see only transient unanchored stuff.

It removes the yellow squares around them. The containers themselves will stay, but they're mostly too small to see....

ctrl-tab removes the entire UI. I would REALLY love to see an option to remove certain icons from the UI rather than just the overview.

Thanks Nyphur for helping me avoid the disappointment I suspected I was being set up for.
So, those yellow things remain. All that development effort and investment in graphicsààà

Umm... All that does is remove it from the overview pane on the right side of the screen. It does NOT remove all the floating yellow boxes from the CENTER of your screen. This Space Reserved until my sexy new sig is completed. :) |

it should be noted that ctrl+tab doesnt always clear the UI. It is a command similar to the Alt+Tab command in Windows (allowing you to move between active and minimized windows).
The PROPER command to remove your entire HUD is Ctrl+F9.
