So, down with the secrecy. Gradient is talking with EM. Official release is there - but since I think many of those who probably want to ask questions about it prefer the illusion of a more personal atmosphere on this side of the Summit, I'll post this bit here too. No doubt the communications control will let me know if this "spammage" is not appropriate.

Elsebeth: From your recruitment page:
Quote: For security reasons, we do not hire pilots trained by Amarr academies
If you rejoin EM, you will be associating with several corps who have Amarr pilots loyal to the Matari within their ranks. Are Gradient pilots willing to fly alongside these pilots and accept them as equals?
Or not?

While I would defer to Elsebeth on this matter (and eagerly await her correction), we will accept Amarrian-trained pilots, just not in command positions. ___ Caldari by birth, Minmatar by citizenship.

Our current alliance, NMTZ, also has several Amarr trained pilots in the memeber corporations. Joining EM will make no difference to it.
The current EM charter states that no Amarr will be in a commmanding position of another pilot without the said pilots permission. A similar restriction is in effect in NMTZ.
Gradient does not hire Amarr trained pilots, but individual pilots are free to judge about their personal relations on their own as long as our pilots do not pose a security threat to either Gradient or the Republic by their associations.

No, I suppose it is not news as such; we did not want to make the official announcement before we were confident that the thing flies, but many people have indeed known and it has not been any special secret for a couple of weeks now.
I thank you for confirming to the public the fact that this thing has been known for a long time, and in fact predates the current war, and thus is not in any way caused by it. That is an honorable publicity move I would not have expected from INFOD.
Edited to add: Masim explains the Amarr policy quite clearly, I have nothing to add to that.

What I would really like to know is whether or not Gradient will be abandoning the war on INFOD or will you just fight against our outlaws like before you convinced Namtz'aar k'in to declare war on us? - BOOST OUTLAWS (-10.0 and proud of it) |

We will follow the EM command in that matter. I am sure you understand I cannot reveal if I know what they plan, and if so, what those plans are.
You are misinformed there a bit; Gradient did not convince NMTZ to declare. We did not oppose to the plan, but it did not originate from us. I am sure you also understand I cannot give you further details on that either.

Edited by: Tomahawk Bliss on 02/04/2007 21:31:49 the question then becomes, will you change to be more like EM or will Gradient have a positive effect and change EM?
Either way something in changing, close association does that to everyone. for your sake I hope you add a little bit of that Gradient class to Electus Matari.
I look forward to seeing what you do in the future with them.

Obviously, we very much have our fingers crossed that Gradient will come home - they've been in our blood since the beginning, and even in their absence, helped to shape the path we took. When we were at war, they had our backs. When we were at peace, they have been at our sides rebuilding.
Whether Gradient returns to EM or not, they will continue to be our allies, friends and more than that, kin.
To NMTZ, please be assured we will continue to stand alongside you, in Molden Heath or anywhere else. EM will never forget the way you stood for us against PIE, Vigilia Valeria and CVA. We are certainly not looking to in any way diminish the Namtz'aar K'in - it is simply that there has been a growing commonality of interest between EM and Gradient.
Bliss, I'm impressed you can even spell "class". Now you just need to learn that it's not just the room you used to have to sit in the corner of.

an example of my point.
you specifically handled your sell quite poorly during the semi-recent Amarr paramilitary conflict.
I do hope Gradient raises the bar and doesn't sink to your level.

That would explain the massive support we had, then. And all the fan mail.
Those we fly with, and those we fight, know you have to go a long way to find a more respectable partner or opponent than EM.

if you say so, I was in Amarr when a 20ish blob EM fleet was camping a lone PIE member and the local channel was flashing strong with cat calls and other low brow idiocy. and while I support twenty vs one as a capable tactic, it certainly isn't something to croon over, even if your crooning was slack-jawed.
If you have gotten better after the combined Amarr bloc pushed you back to molden heath then alright.

It's aumsing that in this thread, and the other announcement one, INFOD seem to believe that everything that happens in the Molden Heath area is in some way related to them. Okay, I totally accept that for about an hour a day, maybe two, you can camp the system of your choice but so what? Life goes on the other 22 hours of the day and none of it is even slightly interested in INFOD.
For myself I would be more than happy to see more combat against you but that's the point really isn't it - you don't want combat. If you did you would come and visit in skirmish groups where you might actually get a fight. Instead you come in BS-heavy fleets, always clinging to jump range of a gate, or docking range of a station, or hiding out in a mission safespot, and generally with your carriers on standby to jump in for support.
Don't get me wrong; if I had your numbers that's exactly what I would do: total area superiority and remove any possibility for the opponent to fight with a view to eventually destroying their morale. Except I wouldn't then smack talk my enemy for not coming out to fight because I would feel rather stupid, having made it suicidally impossible for them to do so.
If you want a fight then come for a fight. If you don't want a fight then bring the now infamous INFLOB and camp the system for 20 mins or so and leave again. Either way you control the level of combat you will get. Moaning and complaining that people will not throw their ships away on your blob is just a bit pointless. -----

It's true we do sometimes bring excessive numbers, we all want to kill you after all.

We show up for a fight with 18 pilots, your friends bring 25 with carrier support. We come back with 20 people and everyone is docked. What are you getting at exactly?

As one of the pilots that financially helped to form NMTZ during my days in encina technologies, I find this news to be most welcome, NMTZ ill need gradient polluting their pilots minds towards showing extreme loyalty to the corrupt minmatar republic, the very same republic that shoots members of the thukker tribe but lets slavers pass through there systems without harm.
But on a lighter note I wish gradient luck with their move to electus matari, if it does happen. |

And what would you call yourself Awox? a puppet that operates as a meatshield for his pirate masters maybe?
You have some front coming here accusing good honest freedom loving people of not being matari, you understand nothing of the struggle our people suffer at the hands of slavers, you just make the fight to free their brothers even more difficult by interupting their assaults on amarian slavers.
Now be gone pirate! and go do as your pirate masters tell you, because you clearly have no idea how to make your own decisions, a minmatar's natural instinct is to fight against slavery and oppresion, those that do not are either ammatar or slime, you fall into the second mentioned word.

Ushra'khan words are hollow husks as they havn't been seen in Molden Heath for ages. We're just doin you guys a favour and encouraging these so called anti-slaver freedom lovers to move on. They have been cowering in Molden Heath for too long. Ammar is that a'way. Dont worry about slavers in Molden Heath. We will take care of them too.
"a puppet that operates as a meatshield for his "republican" masters maybe?"-- Sounds like a better slogan for likes of Naamtz and 5th Column.

Ushra'khan words? my words are my own pirate, you see! thats "freedom", the ability to speak for myself, unfortunately the same cant be said of the minmatar bloodlines that pollute molden heath by being puppets to pirates, their words are as empty as their souls and speak only through their corporation.
