I can recommend the Wii if you like fun games and to play with some ( drunk ) friends. But the 360 has Xbox Live and much better graphics. PS3 has higher specs then the 360 but I dont think its worth the money.

exactly, the gain doesn't justify the massive price tag tbh.
i personally think your just paying for the blu-ray :/ ----

a) PS3, although I dont have one I've heard alot of bad things about them. You are actually just payin for the Blue Ray player (which will drop in prices over the next year), IF you buy one of these be sure to buy the USA model as they removed a chip in the EU version which is for backward compatability (to save money and rip off EU customers). Some PS2 titles will not run on the EU PS3, plus its ú100 more expensive than importing one.
b) Nintendo Wii, outselling all other consoles at the minute, dont have one but I cant imagine this is really for the serious gamer, graphics remind me of the Gamecube. I'd buy one for the kids, cheap fun.
c) XBox 360, excellent all round console, not too expensive, good graphics, good gameplay, if you are into Online games then look no further as the other 2 consoles cant touch it for the online experience and the DVD drive ROM can be flash'd, letting you play copied games online and even before the're release date. I have one and I've never looked back.
PS3 fans should wait a year. Wii fans shouldnt throw their hands about too much or they might kill someone. Xbox fans should buy buy buy.

because I want to. 'nuff said. -------

Edited by: DB Preacher on 02/04/2007 14:19:11 I'd hold off on the wii unless you just want a party gadget. The controller hasn't proved itself yet as to whether it can actually be sensitive enough to make games immensely realistic or whether it will remain a simple fun gadget.
The big competition is between the xbox and the ps3. Currently, I feel that the xbox has the edge with amazing online abilities, some excellent exclusive games and is much cheaper in price, especially if you start buying up the ú15-ú20 back catalogue games to keep you going.
However, this all might change in the future with the release of PS3 HOME, which is the online capabilities of the PS3. Furthermore, with Microsoft remaining on a basic DVD, the size of games will begin to struggle as more and more content goes into them... an essential part of development for the next gen.
Microsoft can fix the second problem and Sony can only screw up the first one by themselves.
So currently, it's all down to price and what you want to do immediately.
If you want single player games using a great controller at any cost with decent future potential then consider the PS3.
If you want single/multiplayer games at a cheap price but maximising current potential then consider the Xbox 360.

The wii, hands down.
Although that is based on having people around and having a laugh, I have a PC so why bother with the 360 or PS3.

Edited by: Logi3 on 03/04/2007 11:41:38 I owen both a PS3 and Xbox 360. Now, after playing them both and lets say for some reason i had to go out and buy either 1. After my experiance i would go for the X360.
Visualy theres hardly any difference. I find it much easier in all games on the X360 to find online games, although the PS3 online is just as easy, i just find the 360 easier.
Many more games out for the X360. I managed to find 3 games that interested me for the PS3. Motor Storm, F1, Ridge Racer 7.
X360 last count i had around 15 games. Pro Evo 6 for the X360 is another reason :)
IMO Get the X360 and put ú10 a week aside untill you have enough to purchase a PS3. Oh, the wii. Yea its a great laugh, but you will be bored of it in under a week

It all depends what kind of games you like.
Are you a Nintendo guy, liking the Super Mario, Zelda, Metroid Prime, Mario Party, Super Smash games? Fun kid-friendly games that still manage to pull an older audience? Don't mind not having shiny graphics? Like the new innovative control scheme? Get a Wii.
Are you a Japanese gamer? Did you like the Final Fantasy's, the God of War and the other good RPGs/action games? Get a PS3.
Are you an American gamer? Did you like Halo, Gears of War, Splinter Cell, GTA3? Online Multiplayer shooters your thing? Get a X360.
It's all about what kind of games you like. The perception of fun varies from person to person. Not everyone likes the Zeldas, Marios and Metroid Primes.
Disclosure: I'm a Wii and PC gamer.

Thanks for your thoughts guys, i bought a xbox last night, i am a playstation fanboy but to be honest the ps3 is just 2 much money for what it is even tho iv got money to burn. Maybe in a year i might get one. Also i read that the ps3 is quite hard for games developers to wok with. Dbp can you shed some light on this? (no not the bob+dev thing)
