So everyone thinks the solution to amarr is to play in groups. The race that no one plays is supposed to play in groups ? Ah, right Amarr are supposed to piggy back on Caldari and Gallente friends ?
Good solution.
So since ccp doesnt want to even attempt to fix this BUG/Design flaw I think they should offer all people who have started playing the game and choose amarr a refund, as well as removing amarr as a playable race, isolate amarrian space just like jove and have them be a "storyline" only race. Quit trying to add content. Quit making excuses. You implement half assed ideas and go back and fix them all the damned time, why is it that you are all so adverse to even ATTEMPTING to fix Amarr ? Could it be that all ccp employees avoid flying amarr just like everyone else ? It certainly makes your life easier by only having 3 races to worry about. Less content, less testing, less data input, less variables.
Or you could just make some minor changes that allow Amarr to even attempt at being a playable race. Every other race can multitask. If you want Amarr to be a one trick pony then it had better be one hell of a trick, not a trick that everyone else can best in battle without breaking a sweat. (See: NOS, omni tank, shield tank, EW = pwned amarr.)

Have lasers do "heat" damage to modules with the upcoming introduction of heat, giving lasers the ability to damage/overload enemy modules.
Have lasers be the only weapon system that deals this type of damage.
Should be a good fix.

1st All of you idiots that try to flame the OP and other ppl opinion , go clean you pants , if Amarr gets buffed you'll still be able to kill (no the gakageddons won't be back) them but you won't be able to whipe the flor whit them .
2nd Each race has it's own edge , The Amarr edge as Tux said shoud be energy systems that power up the huge lasers . By energy systems i mean capacitor . Now if you're a veteran pvper you know that a ship like the Abaddon or the Rokh suks huge amounts of cap when it opens fire . Many times amarr pilots find out that even whit cap rechargers and CPR they don't have suffienct capactior.
Instead of reducing the laser cap use by 35% and giving Amarr ships all kind of bonuses , therefore opening more whinage and cans of worms , Amarr can recive a 10% bonus to capacitor capacity similar to the Apocalypse class battleship bonus. At the same time the capacitor need for lasers woud be reduced by 10% .
The base ideea is to give built in Amarr ships a 25% cap bonus while not leting everyone and their cat to run around whit lasers. Also the bonus will alow Amarr ships to run the guns and reps whidout having to micromanage their cap like a Megatron woud have to.
I am not 100% shure of the maths 10% laser cap reduction and 50% capacitor . If someone whants to review the numbers feel free to do it. Free Exotic Dancers & Beer for those who mod my sig too

Yes this or give lasers other damage options than EM and Thermic. Amarr is a nice race, awesome ships... but a bit hard Solo PVP sometimes and they do relay very mutch on the drones even that they dont really have good drones ship... But i guess this is an subject that have been whined over so long that we all know that CCP will never ever do anything that changes these problems. Maybe something els will change that effect amarr possitive and other races negative that will lower the gap, but not just a change to amarr i dont belive it will happend. --

yess finally a tread that does say it like it is. amarr is nerfed too much, why i dont know , but its bad.
trying to do missions alone can be superdangerous , if the npc arent taking much em/thermal damage.
teck 2 lasers losses 3/4 of theyr trackingspeed with teck 2 ammo, no other race has such a loss of accuracy with teck 2 ammo, missiles just makes your ship go a little slower, well bohoo, atleast u still hit like a demon, wile we amarr are missing our targets.
also its quite uncool for us who try ratting in 0.0 , what are we supposed to do against npc wich require kinetic or explosive dmg to die???? we dont have a torp gunboat.
pliiis fix up amarr some ok?

well , ill admit i havent played amarr, but: i have fought amarr , and it seems to me that they are fine, they have the best tanks in the game and those lasers can hit like hell so dont tell me theyre bad at pvp... or pve (never change ammo : ou la la)
i mean: thay have 1 of the best frigs, not bad at inties , not bad a af's. lesser cruisers, and hacs (alltough the zealot isnt bad ) they have the kick ass recons, sweet bc ( harbinger : ouch ) and cs... nice tank and damage, bs: apocs tank or geddons damage... i mean i have seen movies with kickass geddons, so someone seems to have found a fit that works, .... and maybe you need the skills, again i dont know cause i dont fly amarr but lots of my freinds do and they love flying it. so dont tell me theyre crappy at all . cause they arent and i think they are balanced in like all other races. all you need to do is see the positive sides of the race before nagging about the negatve sides.

As someone who has lvl5 Amarr bs and 4 in every other race, i can tell you: you need to fly amarr bs before posting.
The bigger tanks aren't much bigger.
Never change ammo? you realise different crystals have different range? Unlike other races, Amarr have to reload twice if it's t2 (cos they dont stack so they dont load properly the first time if you try do it fast) - this results in an apparent advantage (3 second load time for crystals) becoming a disadvantage (on an 8 gun ship it can take 30+ as you have to wait for each one to go in).
I would put up with Amarr crappy damage vs angels/omni tanks, if Amarr STRENGTHS were real. If Amarr had the gallente rep amount bonus, plus the current resistence bonus, plus additional cap, plus additional pg and maybe a few more low slots, then Amarr would be the master race at tanking!
Oh wait they were supposed to do high damage as well right?
Well maybe change EM/Therm cystals to EM/Exp ;)

I am sorry I ever chose this race over two and a half years agoà.I am approaching nearly 40 million skill points only in Amarr and only PVP and PVE skills and can easily be killed in a one v one against a six month old pilot flying a nos Domi against a decent tanked Amarr BS, this hardly seems right. Some of the ideas I have read in this thread sound great to me regarding cap increases or even damage type options. Hell I would even take some drone bay increases on our BS or BC to make up the difference in the damage type deficiencies. Hopefully CCP will decide to spend some time winning back some of their long standing customers and actually work on the game play instead of the focus on content.

Seriously there are "okay" amarr ships. The only "good" ships cost too much, and do not perform on par with that cost. The amarr ships are supposed to be slow moving, hard to kill and hit like hell.
They move slow.
Lasers dont on average have the same damage as other weapon types. The good lasers are impossible to fit. T2 crystals are a friggin joke. They have no variation in damage. (Other than drones, which they get no bonus's too. Plus the few Khanid T2 ships that have more than 1 launcher) They cannot run a tank like Caldari or Gallente and still keep firing. Build me an Amarr ship that can tank while running good beams, its nearly impossible. Sure you can do it with pulse's but the damage is retarded low and you'll never get into range of anything. Amarr ships are second class.
Give amarr ships better capacitor recharge just like Caldari have better range and Gallente have better drone capacity. Then reduce the Laser's cap usage by 10% and replace that sorry excuse for a bonus called "laser cap usage reduction" with something useful like armor repair, or damage, or rate of fire, or speed. SOMETHING.

I choose the Amarr also because of their background story. Relatively new to the game I can confirm that it is impossible to fight and tank. I've tried it with a punisher, a omen, a maller and a harbinger...nothing really worked out. Why do i have to train everything to level 5 before i can use a bs reasonably with a few amor hardeners and a amor repairer?
Why does CCP ignore these facts for years?

tbh I'm not expecting any of these ammar changes in Rev 2.0 because the dev's seem to be ignoring our plee's to give us some info.
Not sure why maybe they are trying to figure out which bits to do first but i'm not holding my hopes up for anything in Rev 2.0 for ammar

This is something to add.... I have two characters, one Caldari, and the other is Amarr.
It's sad that in a drake I can use a totally passive tank (requiring 0 cap to operate) and have a 230sec recharge rate on my shields, and resists out the yang, and still do insane damage with my missles...
On my Amarr character which has 4mil more sp than my Caldari pilot... I'm totally blown away by what my lazers do to an unsuspecting pilot... And my tank, as passive as a armor tanker can get, with one large armor rep. I can run the Abaddon at full tank, w/ 8 mega pulse lazers, and rip someone apart. But when it comes to someone nossing the hell out of me with a Nosdomi, and thats it.. I cant shoot, I cant tank,.. and the t2 drones slowly kill me. And note this is in a Abaddon.
Now, my caldari pilot, in a drake can tank that same Nosdomi and t2 drones indefinately. And eventually take the Nosdomi out slowly but surely... All while having 4 million less sp than my amarr pilot.
