My corporation, like any other, starts out with 1,000 shares.
I sold some shares, 483 in total. The corporation still has 517 Shares.
Today I did a Dividend Payout of 805,771,016 isk to the Shareholders. I assumed every share holder would get 1,668,262.97 isk per share.
I assumed incorrectly. Try half of that, because the corporation still has 517 shares and the corporation - which should have had a zero balance, now has 416,583,615.84 isk.
It was stressfull enough that this was my first dividend payout, and learned its a lousy interface for entering the isk (no commas, no decimals, no confirmation), but now to learn that the system pays out every share, issued or not - ugh.
How can I get that 416,583,615 - the remaining balance, out to the shareholders and prevent this from happening again?!

Start by manually splitting the money to each shareholder, then sell the remaining shares...

i faced that issue
the way i found was to send another dividend
remove everything that is not the dividend payout, and keep sending dividends of everything
at a point it'll be close to 0 (i recommend to stop at 50M or so :p)
they'll get massive spam but they'll get isk
edit for poster above : you can not see who your shareholders are ! ------

20 Shareholders... won't be too bad. But I only know their names for now, they can easily transfer the shares to others...and they won't get paid.

Slightly off topic but when you pay a dividend do you get any indication of who your shareholders are ?
Are there any entries in the wallet that identify them ? I am trying to findout who has shares in my corp.

Edited by: Plutoinum on 04/04/2007 16:59:58 If the corp pays out only a fraction of its wallet, then you could just calculate intended_payout * 1000/sold_shares and enter that as payout, if I'm not mistaken.
Probably gives an error-message, if that value exceeds what's on the corp wallet, although the corp wallet wouldn't get negative, because the corp pays a part of it to itself. ___________ Muuuhhh !!! |

Edited by: Esurnir on 04/04/2007 17:03:17 For the future for your shareholder to get the right ammount of isk you want to send (Total_ammount_of share_in_the_corp/share_distributed)*ammount_of_isk_you_want_your_shareholder_to_receive=isk_to_send.
if you want to make your calculation from the ammount of isk per share bought it's even simpler : isk_per_share*share_in_corp=isk_to_send

You must be missing the point or something, because I would be ****ed if I was a shareholder and only received half of the isk that was coming to me.

The system is working as intended. If you have 1000 shares of a corporation, each share gets 1/1000 of each isk in a dividend payout. The remaining money stays in the corporation because the corporation still owns part of itself. If you don't want the corp to own any of itself, sell all 1000 shares and you will always have a complete dividend payout.
