Hi
Recently I finally got my CNR. it's very good for lvl 4 but I'm still afraid to go with it to do the "Enemies abound" (I lost here already 4 Ravens :) ) Here is my setup
High 7 TII Cruise Launchers 1 Heavy Diminishing Power System Drain
Medium 3 specific T II active shield hardeners 1 Gist X-Type Large Shield Booster 1 Large Shield Extender II 1 Heavy Capacitor Booster II
Low 3 Power Diagnostic System T II 2 Ballistic Control System T II
Rigs warhead callefaction catalyst Core defence field purger Capacitor Control circuit.
5 Medium T II Drones
with this all I got 19274 of shield with 1149 recharge rate. 7379 of capacitor with 563 recharge rate 900 CPU 13746 Power Grid.
is such a setup OK? What else can be improved for doing Enemies Abound and Bonus stage from Angel Extravaganza.
Thx

I can't tell you much about the mission cause i've never run it, I always skip that mission sequence cause it involves taking big standing hits with empire factions. I can only suggest you do the same. Not really the answer you were looking for, but... *shrugs*
Nice ship. not as good as a Rattlesnake of course...

Hi, I fly a CNR, I solo the enemy abounds a few times. I suggest you get a X-large booster and drop the shield extender for a boost amp.
Also another(more expensive) way to go would be to change to capacitor recharge rigs, drop the extender and capacitor booster and change the gist large booster to a gist xlarge shield booster, put on a shield boost amp, and a cap recharger in mids. If your skills are good enough you could drop 1 of the pdu for a 3rd bcu.

Fit Cap recharge (CCC) rigs drop the extender for a boost amp and upgrade the booster to a Gist B-Type XL. Also usually cap boosters in missions arent the most timely idea. Cap recharger is prolly better...ah screw it follow ^his^ advice.

Hey look, a thread about fitting a CNR! I've been looking for one of these for months... but I never see them. It's great to get threads like this about ships that not many people fly... like the CNR.
For the love of god... use the search button, this ship has more discussions than any ship other than the Raven itself I think.

Fit a large thermal smartbombs to get rid of the frigates, be careful not to launch it too close to asteroids or anything. They do EM damage and will kill your tank as well as prevent you from warping out. Do not use drones. The mission is definely solo-able (i managed it in a regular raven) but it requires very specific fit and tactics.

just buy a cystal set and do it afk but yea anyhow. a faction fitted CNR should manage it easily just take out the warp scramblers first and avenge those lost ravens!

Edited by: Kainite M''alachi on 06/04/2007 09:02:44 Id defenatly get a Gist B XL booster my current setup is this and it walks missions
7 x arby cruise 1 x dark blood nos
3 x gist x hardenrs (depending on mission but t2 will do fine or cheaper option would be Gist b) 1 x gist b xl booster 1 x dread Amp 1 x what ever u want i noramaly go TP / ab for vengence / invun
3 x dread bcu (to make up for my poor missile skills) 2 x PDS
i have 1 ccc and 2 missile rigs
i have rubbish missile skills (914k to be precise) but with this setup ive never had a problem with any lvl 4 or cap. it is a expensive setup but it was needed as i didnt want to spend along time training missiles as im a gun man myself but needs must and all :)
Edited for Sp's :(

Why CCCs instead of semiconductor memory cells? If you can permarun the booster guess it doesn't really matter though.

How about this for pimped
7x cruise 2 rof is 6.7 secs, 1 small tractor
gist b type xl sb, pith x type shield amp, dread guristas invul, 2 pith x type specifics eg heat kin, cap recharger 2
2 true sanshas pdus, 3 x dread guristas bcus
rigs 3x ccc rigs, shield runs permanently at 40% cap giving 930 shields every 4 secs for 168 energy with my maxed skills. The damage is great also as all missile skills are at 5, its overkill yes but its a lot of fun to fly. |
