There really, really, REALLY REALLY needs to be some indication on the screen the whole time you are warp scrambled, prefereably with some sort of link to whoever is scramming you.
Messages flash by CONSTANTLY in battle, and if you miss one and don't notice you're scrammed, you're pretty much screwed.
I know this has been brought up before, but it needs to be a higher priority.

Edited by: Dred''Pirate Jesus on 09/04/2007 21:20:21 Should be easy to do.. At the top of the ship health UI is a bar that appears and displays info when someone has an ew effect on you.. Maybe add a toggle to the ship UI settings to display a similar bar for warp scrambling?
Edit.. Heh see CCP? Others agree already..

I was thinking that the speed indicator on your HUD at the bottom could maybe like, turn red when you are scrammed or webbed and say in parentheses next to you speed.
e.g. 30,000 m/s (Webbed) ___________________________

Um..
blue flashing line, coming from the enemy ship that's scrambling you?
In battle every so often, I actually look at my ship, swivel around it, see if there's anything doing naughty things and violating me... sensor dampners, nos, webbers, scramblers...
There is a nice visual that lets you know...

Sometimes that is hard to see though, and as a frequent interceptor pilot i know that i am usually thinking about other things than having to look for a faint blue animation when im trying to dodge battleship guns. ___________________________

The visual for that pretty much sucks. On my system I can barely see it.

Edit: FIRST!
If memory serves CCP promised e-war indicators about 2 years ago. This means they have 5 more years to come good on their promise since it takes them from 3 to 7 years to fix or otherwise complete a promised feature. Unless the said feature gets cancelled, that is. ...

A lot of people turn off their effects, so they can't see it, and they turn their messages off so they don't get a message.
Their fault.

Fiddle with your contrast then, I can see it perfectly well.

there is nothing wrong with improved battlefield awareness.
make it the same or similar to the ecm/damp bars, other ideas in this thread were good as well, such as the red speed readout.

The existing animation is far too faint unless you are zoomed in really close, and if you are in the middle of being assualted by more than 1-2 opponents at once the message telling you that you are scrammed flashes by far too quickly in teh midst of other combat messages before you can even read what it says.
There should be an indicator on the hud, just like when you are ECM'd or similar.

Point is to know when your fighting... not after you've started trying to retreat. It would be great if there was an indication of some kind that you cannot warp. Eve combat is pretty fast paced, making it easier to judge your tactical status would be a "good" thing.

People don't turn off their effects because they don't like the "Oooh ahh" animations. They turn them off to make the game playable when combat reaches more than shuttle vs. 10 man gank. Just like sound effects.
Do it already

I suggest an icon next to the scramming ship on the overview, like the standings icons we see now. Or change the color of the flashing red box to blue when they use e-war. I'd rather any e-war indicators were in the overview instead of on the speedo.

Top notch idea here.
The EW indicator is a wonderful addition to hub, providing instantaneous information to the pilot (me). Best of all its passive, meaning I don't need to shift concentration for even a second to find out how much longer I'm damping the other guy or how much longer he's jamming me.
The same should really be done for warp scram as well (maybe even webs too, but that's honestly way easier to tell). The change in color is a simple, clean (and unobtrusive way) to present this info the pilot. Can't really see a reason why not . . .
