I have three comps, Eve on all three, but only have two accounts. it doesnt matter which comp I play in, my miner is CONSTANTLY disconnected and im getting FING tired of it... I have re installed the game on every comp and done everything i can think of to fix the problem.. the thing is.. ONLY my miner gets disconnected if he has been mining a while.. so it isnt on my end... its annoying as heck to pause mining, warp in the hauler and watch helplessly as my hulk warps off into the sunset.. As I said, I have three comps, and it happens on ALL THREE of them. Before you disconnect me because you think im macroing, send me a message or something I can respond to PLEASE!!!

Now if he'd be so kind as to let me know what system/belt he's having these issues in, I'd be more than happy to give him an entirely different issue to complain about. |

i cant help with any specifics, but i find if i have a busy channel open it helps me stay connected.
altho i haven't had connection problems lately, when i was i used to leave open eve radio channel , the constant traffic i think kept the client running Team work is essential... It gives the other team something ELSE to shoot at!

Sorry, but considering that many people in my corp have several accounts and use a hauler alt without problems, I cannot understand why you get disconnected. Since it is only your miner, it is obviously not your internet connection.
Unless you give more information or some other sort of circumstance that may cause you to get disconnected, I cannot think of anything but macros that would get you disconnected.

thank you, thats something I can try at least... I dont know what else specific to the circumstances I can give.. Ive tried everything on my end that I can think of.. will try connecting to a busy channel and see what happens.

You may have already tried this, but its a suggestion.
On one of your 3 computers, do a full reinstall of EVE, and when I say full, I mean after uninstalling, go and delete the CCP folder completely. This will remove all the junk from the cache that gets left behind when you do a 'normal' reinstall. There is the possibility that there is something common in the cache specific to that character between all 3 computers. If you have already tried a fully clean install, I suggest contacting customer support, as it is possibly something wrong with your characters info in the database.
I am certain that it is not some kind of macro protection, as I have no problems with my miner whatsoever. -=^=-

Ok, so my knowledge on the workings of the internets is shockingly poor, so just keep that in mind.
Could it be that you are behind some sort of router/connection that both/all three computers are trying to go through at the same time. If so, are all three trying to go through the same port or somesuch? I dunno if there's some setting on the router or your isp that is trying to funnel the EVE traffic through the same line of communication. It could be, were that the case, that your mining character is (for whatever reason) put in second place over your hauling character and when that line of communication gets bogged down it's that account that gets booted.
When you are mining, your lasers are pulling in ore at a constant rate (except ice mining) and the server might be sending that information in some kind of stream. So while your hauler sits idle it's not really putting any major pressure on the communication line, whereas the miner is in a send/receive state. So when the game tries to send/receive and fails it disconnects. That would make it more likely your miner gets hosed.
To reiterate, I really don't know much about ports/routers/internets, but as a theoretical possibility that seems like something worth looking into further.

Drahka'Auron>Hi.is it possible to auto mine?
Heartless Dude>Yes
Drahka'Auron>How?
Heartless Dude>Approach some roids and just press Ctrl+Q
Sorry.I couldn't resist it.To answer your question I had this for a week or 2 and did a fresh install as suggested above.Seemed to clear it up for me.

I had a similiar issue with one account. I use a batch file now that continuesly pings a website and for some odd reason that keeps the account online.
Just create a file named connect.bat on your desktop. Enter into the file : ping www.eve-online.com connect.bat
start connect.bat before you start eve.
Hope that helps.

I have two miners and a hauler on 3 PC's, the micromanagement is horrendous but keeps me busy. Occasionally, I have my lasers switch themselves off cos they have filled the hold but I forgot to transfer it in time while I was busy with the hauler. It took me a while to get used to having two accounts but now I can handle two with ease, it's time to add another character to the fray. 3 mice, 3 keyboards and 3 monitors is a nightmare and several times, I have grabbed the wrong mouse and wondered why the pointer isn't doing anything The bonus is that I'm really starting to become proficient with a mouse in each hand I hate macros and report them at every opportunity, if I can run 3 accounts the hard way, so can others.
I don't know why you are having trouble since my miners don't get disconnected, they just sit there looking stupid floating in a belt doing nothing.
It may be that your internet connection keep alive time is too low and it's dropping the connection after a timeout. I know you probably won't use it but try opening the rookie help channel as someone suggested as the added network traffic may keep your client alive.

Lol do you like pain or something? Check out synergy http://sourceforge.net/projects/synergy2/
You set up 3 monitors in a row hooked to 3 different computers. 1 mouse, 1 keyboard controls them all. As you move your mouse across, it jumps to the next computer..
If you ever find yourself using 3 mice at once.. it might be time to spend 30 secs on google to look for a better solution..

As has been suggested before, it sounds like a problem with timing out. When mining, the server and your client are always sending each other information. However, when idle, that information can stop flowing, or flow at a slower rate, and therefore the server can sometimes start to think your client has in fact disconnected. I have heard of it happening before, though I can't remember why or the fix. The best thing is to do as has been suggested already and use a batch file to keep your internet activity constant.

Does dc happen when you mine in one specific location? if yes you have buggy location If you have another toon on besides miner and it remains idle do you get dc? Then you have time out problem. If the two answers are no then chances are you have a buggy toon and should contact support. I'm set up yhe same way with 3 systems and don't have dc problem,I use two to play and 1 to surf (am new and need to learn game) get lockups once in a while but no dc

check if "sun is occluded by ships is marked"
if i can remember correctly that used to be the problem for getting disconnects in 2004 , most of the times when the hauling character warped into the system or the belt , then the miner got disconnected sometimes .
so unmark it , "press escape ,on one of the first pages there you ll find the sun is occluded by ships , and unmark it on all pc s "
even sometimes that was bugged so if you still have it on a certain pc and not on other pc s , try the unmark again
i hope thats the solution , otherwise you ll have to check the forum on other possibilities or known bugs

it doesnt seem to be related to a specific location, it has happened to me four times today... as a test, even though i have two comps side by side, i ran BOTH clients on the better of my two machines... all 4 disconnects still happened to my miner. and im not just sitting idle mining and filling a can, my Hauler isnot a hauler in 0.0, hes my tanker, so he was busy tnking and my miner is filling the barge and running back and forth. all 4 disconnects happened when i stopped mining and went to haul a load in to the pos... I am going to do a Fresh install, ive never deleted the ccp folder, so am going to try that and see what happens... extremely agrivating to have a hostil hop in system, hit warp gang to pos and have my miner do the logoffski... fortunately they havent scanned him down and killed him yet.. but it will happen if i keep getting discoed.. Thanks for the replies folks, gives me a few more things to try!!!
