I find myself currently stuck ingame due to not knowing whether I'm doing something wrong, game bugs and 'not doing it right'. Out of this confusion I have sent off 2 petitions due to lack of literature on the game.
Granted, CCP give us some information and maybe finding out is some of the fun, but when you don't know if the site you have explored has been hacked or not and if you have done something wrong to bork your corp standings up, or not done enough to get wanted results and lose out on piles of isk per day, it gets frustrating. Even if I knew the latter situation was a bug I could maybe try again and get stuff up and going.
It seems as though the petition que is rather long atm, if the players had some documentation I'm pretty sure those ques would be far less. Surely CCP can set aside some time after every content release to actually tell us the basics on what everything does and how it's meant to work.
Sure, many players put a lot of effort into creating a wealth of player related documentation, but this can still be misinforming if the groundwork isn't there.
Also, with CCP's voice behind what goes in the game as far as reimbursement, bugs and exploits, I'm sure the forums would have far less spammed with the usual crap whining posts and eve would be a better place.
I know there was meant to be an eve wiki thing in the works, but everything seems to take an eternity with this game, no offence meant.

Great guide, very comprehensive but missing out on the POS/R&D aspect of the game, going to have to print out the guide and give it a good read

You could always do what I did about a year ago... purchase one of the original boxed copies of EVE. Not that the information in that manual has all that much to do with the game nowadays, but then you'd have a printed manual, which looks pretty cool, and convinces your friends that you're a fanatic. :)

I actually saw a strategy guide at Fry's Electronics about a year or so ago. Dunno if its still in print though, or if its even accurate. _________________ [SAK] Alumnus--And Proud Of It! -- aka Cpt Bogus Is that my torped sig cloaking your base?
