It's something terribly obvious that should have been in the game long ago.
Frigate and cruiser officer spawns, in lowsec ccplz. That'd get more people checking out lowsec belts, unlike some other features put into the game the last few years.
And while we're at it, how about some X-type small/medium armor repairers/shield boosters? |

Frigate and Cruiser officer spawns would be cool.
Unless the distribution of dead space modules is changed, the availability of x type small and potentially medium modules would be so overfarmed they would become the next meta.

I do not care if they do this or not, but the chances of it increasing the number of people in low sec belts is about zero. People who like low sec are already there, people who are willing to go low sec for the improved rewards are already going there, for the majority of the rest the chance of an officer spawn would not be enough to take them into low sec. |

Belts.
I cut my teeth on belt piracy. CCP added clone soldier spawns, mordu spawns, npc mining operations........to attract people into checking out the belts. Lowsec officers would be another incentive. |

Weeh purple mods for frigates and small tournament ships. Maybe they could drop a little more often than the other ones.

We aren't talking about commander spawns that drop faction loot. We're talking about officers, which are much more rare.

There are no officer frigate/cruiser sized modules. I am proposing that they change that.

it's when the op says something like this and you realise the reason he proposes something so off is because he has little understanding of eve.

It's when someone posts in your thread something like this and you realize the topic went over his head.
Point me to the guide on fitting a Malice with officer mega pulse.
Or officer pop mods
Or officer injector
Or officer weapons
Oh right because there aren't any frigate/cruiser sized officer mods.
There are plenty of non-size-specifc officer modules that can be fitted on frigates/cruisers, as you say, but the discussion is about frigate/cruiser sized officer spawns which would drop the aforementioned size-specific modules like the, currently, only battleship officers that only drop battleship sized modules. |

Thank you for making my point for me, CCP added all of these things in an effort to increase the popularity of low sec and for the most part they have failed miserably. Adding yet another incentive to that list will not magically change the simple fact that most people do not want to go to low sec.
I am not against your idea, I am simply pointing out it will have no affect on getting people into low sec. |

Officer mods have CRAZY fitting requirements. I don't see a way to reasonably shoehorn these types of mods into a frigate hull. There is just so much that could go wrong with these mods - making drams more kitey - I don't know many good pilots that want to go back to that garbage.
And Donnachadh is right. The last 5 game adds to populate LS belts have been a bust. This would be nothing more than free candy for folks already there and would not be the LS belt miracle folks keep hoping for.
FW brought folks to LS. Things that add interesting game play attract players. Loot (especially rare officer spawns) are NOT going to have folks flocking to belts hoping to win a lottery. A player can grind incursions for a few hours and make bank OR a player can run around in LS for who knows how long in a ship that can kill an officer frig (I'm feeling something a bit more than a T1 fit kestrel or anything an alpha clone can tape together). Players will take the risk free incursions just like they always have. |

The core problem is this, not everyone WANTS to go to lowsec and shoot people...
I have killed a bunch of dudes and been killed a bunch of time by faster and better dudes...
But at the end of the day i don't ENJOY pvp for its own sake, its a fun thing to do with friends but so are alot of other things. Incursions, board games, and i -for one- don't really care for the supposed attractions of low and null sec. My experience has been that its alot of waiting for not a fight at the end... And since i dont ENJOY pvp why would i leave highsec where with some elementary precautions i can basically ignore it all together |

OK so officer modules might be a bit off for frigate and cruiser hulls, however the motive of getting people checking the LS belts isn't a bad one.

Nana's Modified Civilian Afterburner Activation: 8 Duration: 10 Speed: +100% Powergrid: 4 CPU: 6
Super rare, and probably very valuable even to veterans as a superb compact AB for tight fits. Officer occurs in a deadspace pocket only accessible by rookie ships flown by a pilot no more than 3 months old. Pocket generates an effect increasing the damage of civilian weapons.

Gotta bring some friends for this fight. But what I would do there as a pirate? I know, I would fly around my personal Pleasure Parlor and would shout "Another capsuleer wanting to steal my exotic dancers?!" in local upon warp in. There would be some exotic dancers in structure. They would drop if structure would be destroyed.

Personally think that Officers should remain in Null sec.
However, why haven't they put some variation into the office modules?
Either:
Meta 13: Frig / Dessie Meta 14: Cruiser Meta 15: Battleship Meta 16: Capship
No matter which size the officer spawn can still hit hard and tank like a female dog.
Alternative:
Give the different meta's different benefits.
I love how the Faction Power Diagnostic Systems module were given variations to allow some to give better PG, some better Shield HP, etc..
Why not have some officer guns track better and have shorter range, some use less cap, some rof, some damage.
Blow out:
Lets add office modified faction ship BPC's to the drop too!!
Mmmmmmm Brokara's modified Succubus.
