So far today:
1.ive had a contract take 30mins to appear in my hanger. 2. Lost a T2 eagle to pirate gang because they warped to the gate and podkilled me before they loaded on my screen. (gangmate almost died also as he warped to the gate and didnt load until the blinkys were already firing) 4. Character sheet and assets page lag 5. Eve has lost connection twice.
TS has been completely fine Other webpages load completely fine Router log shows no abnormalities
So far ive had to swallow the complete rubbish about us having to accept the game-stopping lag in 0.0 every time we go out in a fleet op and actually want to bring our alliances with us. Now lowsec is getting stupid.
The mood in eve is that CCP needs to drop whatever its doing with pretty new features and address these CORE problems which are truly ruining our gameplay, why are GM's pretending lag doesnt exist and refusing petitions, ignoring the effects of the servers failings only infuriates the player base even more.

Theres been 1 or 2 threads on this already but yea... I would say lag is causing me not to log into eve anymore or just sitting in the station doing nothing.

Same. Lag is just stupid. I lost a 2 bill fitted navy raven yesterday due to the lag. It booted me off the server and I logged on to my clone station. I petitioned it to CCP and they don't want to know about it. They made up some **** saying the logs show it's not server related so there for we can't give you your ship back.
My internet is fine. Im on a 4MB connection and teamspeak and my house network was working fine. ---------------- If You Can't Kill It, Slap It! The Man Who Runs Will Fight Again

I have never had lag, but then again I don't go into the fleet battles (yet). Losing a ship like that due to it is pretty bad, I feel for you.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of machine are you people running?
I had lag problems when I was using my old machine, but now that I'm running a new machine I don't have the lag anymore.
Is the client becoming a lot more demanding?

I hate to say it, but I cant rationalize getting in any gang bigger than 15 or so anymore. If that. Therefore, I wont bother.

They are quite correct, it won't have been lag. That's not to say it's not their fault though. It sounds a bit everyone here is actually complaining about the client stutter problem rather than lag.

I run a 4 month old Duel Core system with completely new parts, its not my computer.
Pawning it off as client side lag is all well and good, but when everyone entering say a gate grid gets client side lag as they try to load up, well i dont see how that is really anything othe then the server.

I agree, I could not even watch a 4 on 4 battle at a gate camp because of the lag. So I just left.
Too bad it would of been fun to watch.
So why should anyone want to PvP with this? I do not know.
I got a good conection too that has been pretty good for years and most of the time it is ok but when players are fighting players in more then 5 involved, not so great.

Funny, but in my location, not seeing a lot of this. Please see this post for a good and indepth article by IBM (including bits about CCP/EVE) that discusses and diagnoses some of the reasons for latency/lag.

So? You think that's a condom or something?

Quite simple. The client isn't keeping up with the server.

Are you like a bad troll or something?
I've been playing eve for years, i know exactly what my computers over the years are capable of.
Also, i run in Fleet mode at all times, for those who dont know what that is, its basically all effects off.
I hate condoms.

Heh, it might even be that the server code has had it's much vaunted speed optimisation. And guess what, the faster the servers are at dumping the gory details on our poor neglected clients the bigger the stutter will be each time.

That's also wrong. Stutter is a localised issue with what is in the client's view.

Actually, to be honest, I'm strongly suspicious the recent crop of chronically over the top batch of stutters is being caused by a bug like the old faulty jpeg in the billboard bug.

Has the guy who coded the billboards ever been replaced? Or has some CURRENT CCP dude been tasked to look at the problem?
