I should perhaps make it clear that, although I've never received an iota from James 315 for my years of service, It is my position as a 'CODE flunkey' of independent means which has allowed that situation to arise.

I could if I wished use James' generous SRP (total currently standing at ~70 billion Isk) to offset the cost of the tools of my trade, but there are brothers and sisters in the Movement whose need, I've determined, is greater than my own.

My SoundCloud contributions occasionally attract donations from well-wishers (and the bemused but speculative). The equipment and software used in producing those items of education and entertainment is otherwise funded wholly by me.

I think I am being accused of posting like Holy, whoever that is. I won't bother to assure you of my innocence, as I am comfortable living under the "burden of proof on the accuser" system.



So it looks like watchlists and buddy lists and locator agents are useless if someone really wants to hide. To me this seems counterintuitive for a game that claims we have to make decisions based on our interactions with the rest of the community. Why bother chasing ghosts?

I know where my target keeps a citadel, and I was wondering what happens to it if he does not visit it for long periods of time. Do citadels stay online forever, or is maintenance required for continued operation.

Also, If anyone can point me to any information still in existence on the Band of Brothers alliance, I would be greatful.

[a lengthy - even by my standards - introductory missive]

So as a new Alpha I was out recently just exploring the vastness of EVE when I happened upon an Orca mining with drones in a high security system named Hageken. I loitered in the belt for a minute just watching him/her and tweaking my overview. Apparently I breached some sort of etiquette, as the pilot started accusing me of being a "ganker spy".


The Pilot, one Codex Biovector, got pretty nasty with me about "spying" on him. He must have gotten scared of my shiney new frigate ship. He warped away to a citadel he claims to own and stayed there the rest of my visit, all while hurling false accusations and conspiracy theories at me. Says he will send people to hunt me. Ahahahaha!
Very immature, but I understand it happens in online games.


Well this made me decide to subscribe to an Omega clone so I could begin my real EVE experience!


This brings me to my questions:

How powerful is this guy? (He claims to have been some hotshot with an organization called BOB)
How does a new player know what mercenary groups can be trusted to fight this guy?
And are there any groups willing to take in a new pilot and train him to fight in high security wars?
Can a player owned citadel even be killed in high security systems?
Will a mercenary corp even bother doing business with a new player?



I am stil researching as much info as I can find, but any suggestions would be appreciated. Maybe we can chat in game if you have information and don't want to discuss it here.

As far as that trainwreck on eve who, I think he mad.

I find it amusing that my target finally found this. Took him long enough but hey what can I expect.
He claims to be mining daily while afk, but I just can't seem to substantiate those claims. He must be a login ninja of unparalleled ability. Almost like a phantom. It's gonna take a bigger time investment than I thought to actually catch him online.


He wants us to believe he only has EVE and CCPs best interest at heart, but his language and threats on other sites betrays him as a vile individual. Watch out, he will try to fite you with his "11% body fat". Whatever he ment by that...


I took some time to read through the eve who comments ( it took a while ) and it seems he wants to fight someone from TNT in RL, and he thinks it's funny to laugh at a female gamer that sufffered a terrible loss recently. And if we are smart we will hide our IPs from him, else we risk him posting our personal information. If it's actually our correct information or not is irrelevant to him.


I do have one question about eve who. Does anyone know of a more cancer laden comments section on that site? Or is my target a special case?


As for him countering the gank, he didnt stop the gankers from killing their target, he just whored on the killmail. His ability to misinterpret facts is astounding. The funniest part is how he accuses everyone of being the same guy.

If we are lucky maybe he will expound on his belief that the market in EVE is "not important" or how EVE is dying. He has some wild theories in that eve who comments section.

I'll bet you I can randomly select a target, do something mean to him, take offense at his reaction, then post it here and even admitting all that... garner support against an innocent target by making it fun to support me.

Would it not be better to have a legitimate reason? At least in your own mind?

If you truly believed your target was deserving would that not make the payout even richer?

Your space opera is shallow and lacks for both fun and chaos.

My space opera, were I to write one, would go maybe a bit like this:
1) Infiltrate carebear corp with alpha toon. Act very upstanding. Try to get a title like "military fleet leader of cruiser operations" or some such.
2) post MERC advert in C&P with alpha toon (advertising your mining corp's merc services), threaten Marmites, Devils, Free Candy, etc... be borderline nasty. Then put something really incendiary against your main's own wardec corp that's blatantly untrue. Sign all posts with full military title(assistant director of cruiser defense services?). Don't tell anyone in the corp what you are doing. Try to think of ways to not get kicked out of the corp.
3) log back to main, wardec the carebear corp without contacting them.
4) When they contact you, demand to know who hired them and why the hell they are griefing you. Demand they drop the wardec or you'll try to mobilize the C&P fleets against them.
5) try to grow it into something all of C&P can enjoy. Let them create some emergent content! you may be able to get more participation by wardeccing another local bear corp and claiming they said that corp hired them to dec you.

Ps. There is original content here I haven't done before, but I've actually done something similar to this twice.
