You are truly beautiful. My desktop image is now your face. I want to gaze upon it every morning when I wake up.
To the OP...
Eve is different from all the other MMOs out there because of its PVP system, which is by far and away the most advanced, involved, and definately the most fun.

Originally by: CCP Wrangler You should probably see EVE more as the old US. High sec is relatively safe like the old colony states while if you venture out to the wild west, the only law is the one you make yourself.
The type of game you are describing isn't necessarily a bad one, but it's not how EVE is designed or intended to be.
The motivator for people getting out in low sec should be risk vs reward balancing, not removing risk. And both playstyles are valid and needed, not everyone wants or should get out in low sec space.

Consentual PVP in Eve means an end to Empire congestion as we leave our over populated systems. How many LowSec systems have absolutely no one in them? Quite a few. People won't leave Empire to risk losing ships and equipment it has taken them months to acquire. Build in this feature and Eve is opened up for most of the player population to adventure.
One concern some of the LowSec corps may have would involve Empire people colonising systems they have worked so hard to settle within. Here the solution is already at hand in the form of corporation wars. An invading Empire corp would have to fight or negotiate for the rights to settle the system.
The number of systems in Eve is easily big enough to accommodate the 30 thousand players in Eve. With consentual PVP the process of evening out the number of players between Empire and LowSec can be accomplished.
Motivators for Empire players to move to LowSec include; eliminating the lag of Empire, placement of lvl 4 (and soon lvl 5) agents in LowSec, Minerals, more challenging NPC targets.

I just want to know where all these ebil pierat gate camps are in low sec?
I've been in lowsec and 0.0 since my 3rd day in eve. In that time i have seen exactly 2 low sec gate camps.
Maybe i'm just lucky but I don't think so. Try not going to the 4 systems where pirates regularly camp gates and you should be fine.
Low sec is a lot less dangerous than you imagine it to be.

PvP is consentual now. Go to lowsec or 0.0 if you want to risk it, stay in highsec if you dont.
What I want to see however, is when you go on a mission ONLY you and your group are allowed inside that mission. I don't PvP, but I would like to run better missions. Until I can run one and not have some asshat popping in and shotting at me when I have aggro of 15 rat ships, I'll just mine thanks.
Excluded non group members for missions and I may even do business in lowsec. Unless that's done, lowsec is just another far off place to me I just don't give a damn about.

consentual PvP is a horrible idea.
Don't get me wrong, I think war declarations needs to be changed slightly ( won't go into details because I don't have a suggestion to fix it ), but concentual PvP just sucks.

Maybe for high-sec if 2 people want to fight on the cheap, but I don't see low-sec and 0.0 with this, becuase with consensual combat they become high-sec....

Maybe I'm a nub PvPer, I'm willing to accept that possibility, but I find that if you know both persons skills and setups, you can tell whos gonna win before the fights started.
If PvP is made totally consentual no one would ever fight except stupid people who don't know they're gonna loose, or people with so much cash they'll gladly throw away ships for fun.
What I personally like about EVE is the lack of consent in many things, I wouldnt like it turned into a mega happy friendly lets all hold hands utopian society purely because a few people have a whine and a cry about loosing stuff.
Many people have said in the past "Don't undock in anything you can't afford to loose". If you don't want non-consensual PVP don't ever undock, use the market or read the forums or well... anything.
Eve is what it is, I'm sorry but I disagree with what you want, that isn't what appealed to me and many others I know, please realise that the world isn't a safe place and nor is EvE.
Maybe some elements of the game do need to be looked at (The wardec system, NPC corps, Insurance and CONCORD violations etc) but ultimately what your proposing isn't EVE, its WOW.
All the time people try to build up happyhappyjoyjoy states and systems and try to avoid using guns, I'll be there to smack them about and take their stuff. Welcome to EvE. ______

To the OP.
I admit it... I used to think like you, and to be honest, I think most of us did at one time or another. For me it was when i started in eve over 3 years ago, It just felt wrong that the stupid pirates in low sec should prevent me from hunting cruiser NPC's in low sec.
What tends to happen as you get older in the game is that, as you get more experienced and make friends in eve, it dawns on most that PVP is the whole point of eve.
Even the most carebearish eve player that never leaves NPC corp or never enters low sec, is actually dependant on PVP. The reason is that PVP removes a LOT of stuff from eve every day, that allows players to sell stuff they mined, ratted, invented, produced, explored, hacked, researched, missioned, pirated !..... It is what keeps the economy alive for all of us.... and tbh its FUN once you get the hang of it :)
I know a lot of new and newer players joins corporations they made themselves or corps that has the same level of experience as themselves. That is part of the problem, take your 2-3 best mates and join a corp with more experienced players, that will make you a lot better suited for dealing with eve.... Eve is a VERY complicated game in many respects, so get help, it really pays off :)

I disagree with the OP:
Yesterday while slumming in empire I kitted up a Rifter and went trolling in low-sec space (which was quite empty for the most part). I scanned an Omen in the belt...warped in...popped him...and all without asking. And it was good fun too. "Lead Me..Follow Me..Or get the **** out of my way" General George Patton USA

Folks, please remember - the only way to deny a troll his fun is to not reply whatsoever. By everyone rushing to spam the thread with replies (even patient, polite ones), you are validating the troll's existence. Ignore it, and the thread will vanish from the first page of the forums very quickly. Thanks.
p.s. yeah I know I just bumped it =/ what can you do?
