I was just recently banned from the test servers and have no way of talking to any BH or GM's from the test servers to talk about it or explain my case. Is there a certain channel on TQ where I can? Or should I do it here on EVE-O?
I was banned by Nozh for owning 100 Guardian-Vexors, which I bought while there were 99,854,000+ still left in market and as far as I know, being seeded. I dont know if they were later unseeded and I was found to have them or whatever, but I only bought 100 cause I figured other people would buy 100,000 of them or more and wanted to be able to lend some to alliance mates who might not get a chance to use them before they were all taken (and I always buy in 100's on the test server so I dont have to keep searching through the market everytime I want to fit a ship). I will happily give them back, if they arent already taken, to get back on the test servers.

That is the reason I get in a windowed message when I try logging in to the test servers. The exact message reads...
user Your_ex is banned Last Login: 2007.04.16 21:42 Number of Visits: 1300 Reason: Bought 100 guardian Vexors -Nozh
I was in the middle of heading back to a home station to pick up a faction ship when I was kicked. I am only hoping a BH, GM or someone of the like reads this because I dont know if there is another way to contact anyone about apealing to my ban as I was given only the info listed above. I got no warning or anything.
So if someone know how or where to apeal this could you please let me know?
P.S. How do I get my corp and alliance info under my picture as this is my main.

I'd check out this thread and read rules # 4,7 & 8. That may help you figure out if you'll get unbanned.

Chris,
I just got the exact same message when logging in. Usually I buy 50 or so of each item I use on the test server. I think that's fairly standard practise for a lot of test server users. And I do get through them pretty quickly. (When there are 100 million of them on the market I don't view buying 100 as hoarding).
From what I can read from other forum sections we're banned until the next mirror :( which is going to be a LONG LONG time.
Personally I'm very dissappointed. I think it's extremely harsh. I am a very active user of the test server.
I don't know if Nozh is a new GM or if the definition of hoarding is different because they are Guardian-Vexors. Either way from reading other forum posts it looks as if we don't have any recourse.
It's a real shame - leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

I feel the same way Vevva.
It has been stated twice now of avid users of the test servers that it is not uncommon for a player to purchase more than a couple of one item. Especially when everything costs 100 isk and there are 100,000,000 seeded.
I just do 100 cause its easy and you get a fair amount of the item. When I first played on the test servers (back when teir 3 battlecruisers were just being tested)I bought things 1000 at a time, all be it in a dead system in 0.0, but my point still stands.
I just wish a BH, GM or Dev would read this so I can get a straight answer or even plead my case.
I played the test servers so much lately I played it more than TQ! Now not being able to play on it for something as trivial as 100 guardian-vexors is a shame.

Sounds odd. Isn't ammo also seeded at 100M units per type? If so, buying 100 units of antimatter should also get you banned - or worse, since more people use ammo than guardian-vexors.

Anyone considered it could be the fact they were guardian-vexors, which arent meant to be in game?

Edited by: Christoph O''rourke on 17/04/2007 20:57:30 Edited by: Christoph O''rourke on 17/04/2007 20:54:07 That would normally be true Tintfish, but seeing as this is the test servers and I'll say it again, they were being seeded (starting at 100,000,000) on market... I saw no harm in buying 100 of them.
Now if they were later removed from the market they should have just taken them from me, but a ban seems over the edge as I would have had no knowledge of them being removed.
And yes Nyanna, under that logic that would be considered hoarding as well. But the fact people buy ammo 10k, give or take, at a time and never seeing ammo go under 50,000,000 on the market at any time I hardly see 100 ships making any sort of difference over 10 and of course I wouldnt consider 100 hoarding.

100 is nothing. I could understand if you had bought like a 1/1000 of the available market.
Ohh and about buying ammo. It feels strange to Antimatter S at 100 ISK, when the 'normal' market price is like 5.20 ISK :-) ----- http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online ----- Top wishes: - No daily downtime - Faster training on sisi - Updated data export - Speedup IGB table rendering |

Imo, you are hoarding. Buying ships for your corp m8's and not personal use, is technically hoarding (in my eyes). Generally, buying more than 10 ships in on go is hoarding, in my eyes.
I usually buy about 1-5 ships and 20-50 of a module. Ammo i buy in the thousands .
Is it a bit harsh judgment, yeah it is. But that should teach you not to hoard

I normally buy about 50-100 of any commonly used ships(on sisi, usually domi, myrmidon and ishkur, for me), plus 100 of any mods i buy, even more for common stuff like reppers, then ammo in the 100ks, if i have the isk. I dont see the number of them being hoarding, especially as they probably removed them all within a few hours :P

So is there a formal method to being unbanned on the test servers?
After the recent mirror, I was banned. Reason:
Yep, no reason was given.

yep, i got banned for buying 100 to when i only meant to buy 10
anyways, i guess there were ppl buying 10k + guardian vexors, so they whipped out the ban stick on everyone who bought (i think) 100 or more. from what they said on IRC its a perma ban (as in dosn't matter when they mirror, your still banned)...i'm not gonna copy/paste for obvious reasons, but yeah, i normally buy 100+ of items (oddly not ships though), 10k rounds of ammo, 500+ cap boosters at a time...i think they just got ****ed that day.
