Anyone else seen this? We were forced today to watch it in school. My personal view on global warming is that it does affect us. We shoudl use technology etc.etc. I'm really surprised he took up every possible problem I had thought of earlier. The biggest being wealth vs. planet. People today being too lazy to change and spend some cash to make the earth a better place etc..
Anyway, I'd recommend everyone to watch this. Even if you don't like Al Gore there are a few interesting facts on global warming.

To quote a certain Scrubs character: Here's an inconvenient truth - nobody cares!
To be honest though, I'm not convinced global warming is being caused by humans, and that the world wouldn't heat up naturally anyway. It does tend to happen when you come out of an ice-age you know --------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you seen it?
To the OP, I have seen the movie and I was very impressed by what mr Gore had to say, offcourse one has to take this info with moderation but it has indeed made me aware of how i'm using energy etc so I try to do what I can to prevent myself from abusing it.
The thing that hit me the hardest is the simple fact that if we go on like this and enough ice melts into the ocean, my country will largely dissapear. My house would probably be in the sea, wich will mean I can't play eve and that would suck

I have watched it aswell.
Although it does have some interesting information. I have a problem or 2 with it. I dont nessecarrily believe everything in that movie. I just dont think that when a volcano can affect the world drastically then it goes away that we will have a lasting effect on our earth enough to cause catistrophic damage.
Besides I find it hard to listen to someone who uses over 4 times the energy of a adverage family to power his house and uses 4 times the fuel to fly around. Something seems a bit hipocritical about that.

I doubt there are even a 'few facts' in his slideshow. He turns pale as a ghost anytime someone wants him to defend the strawman arguments and flat-out lies in that movie.
Solar cycles, the scientific fact that CO2 comes after, not before, temperature changes, that it's not even 1% of the atmosphere... yeah.
The only wy you'll stop 'global warming' is to regulate the sun.

One of his homes uses 10 times, not 4 times the average household's energy.
He flies on his gulfstream private jet constantly (as do many other global warming hypocrites), and buys his 'offsets' from a company he is chairman of. It'd be like buying sins from the church, and you're paying the church you own.

It's stronger now that it has ever been. Do you own reading and don't just listen to sources that have political hatred of the president.
Unemployment is at an all-time low. just went below 4.4% iirc. The average in Europe is around 9% iirc?
There's a very large, very strong US economy to kill right now.

employment has little to do with a good economy. Communist Russia had 0% unemployment didnt mean it was good... Look at the huge US state debt that keeps increasing that says enough.
On the fact of global warming that doc is kinda biased doesnt mean Global warming aint happening. A report of UN wich 1000's of scientists worked on confirmed there is global warming. Even in my daily life we are starting to see the changes 15th of april we had 25 degrees celcius never in more then 100 years of recorded weather was it so hot so early. Last summer was the hottest summer ever recorded in my country. But to be honest i could care less about global warming at the moment. Im really enjoying the nice weather :D

Just because the currency is in decline doesn't mean it's a weak economy. Maybe you should read a little about economics before you spout off nonsense.
The economy, just like the climate, is cyclical. Sometimes it gets warmer, sometimes it gets colder and the economy does the same thing.
And the most hilarious this about this is THIS. Al Gore is a blowhard swindler trying to convice the world that the earth is flat.

Geusse what Buddy, the US economy is 3 X larger then our biggest competitor (Japan), Their economy is 4X higher then Germanys. The whole EURO economy combined does not equal Japans, so therefore, you have no clue.
The Buying power of the US is only rivaled by china, and thats only because china is currently the most waisteful country in the world.
THE US has always made it a standard to lower the value of our dollar so it doesnt crash, euros arent so bright, look at the UK, the country is dirt poor yet they boast on and on about their pound...

reguarding the film, its slightly misleading, many of the papers i read (geography student at uni) it is not that we are causing global warming as it is a massivly complicated process, its more a fact that we are speeding up the process and its like a snowball once it picks up momentum its harder to stop.
On the Us economy, again a massivly complicated area, i do know that they have a massive trade deficit atm amounting to trillions of $ but then so do many other countries its not something you can make a sweeping judgement on im afraid. -----------------------------------------------

Contrary to popular belief, a person from England is not called an Englishman. The "people" of England are in fact a completely different species to you or I. This species is called Bumblus Hughgrantius, or as it is more commonly known, the Bumblybrit. The sole purpose of a Iby3tdP+zfabfOftlng5rwaScsXJto a nice school and, eventually, emigrate to it's "true home", the Mediterranean. Some Bumblybrits, try as they might, fail to accomplish this and have to settle for a better place, such as the crater atop Mt. Vesuvius. They move to their "true home" because they hate the fact they used to own half the ******* world and they're sad that now, in true Bumblybrit fashion, they have "bugger-all".
I rest my case.

I think humans have had some effect, but I also beleive that we are just in a cycle.
Just think, an strong enough earthquake can shake the earth so much so that it changes the tilt by a little. This has been seen many times, the tsunami that causes so much destruction a couple years ago was caused by an earthquake that did the same. Couple years ago there was a earthquake that shifted the north pole an entire inch and permanently altered the speed of the earth so much so that it reduced the length of a day by 3 millionths of a second. Yea doesnt seem like alot, but think about it...
Dont you think earthquakes changing the earths tilt, and altering the speed of rotation could happen to cause changes in the climate?
