Aside from that the whole Electus Matari alliance. Is it so wrong I want my heros to return? Treasure the memory of them. Don't wish for meeting them, lest you want that tarnished. "Never meet your heroes" Its not so much I'd wish to fly with/meet them (I would in a heart beat, but doubt I would be at their level). Just more so looking for the group I strived to be like to give me more to work towards becoming. Im far from my goals anyways but I would rather work under increasing goals than static ones. |

Odd.
I miss not a individual, but the organization that aided in more ways then one to get Ishukone-Raata where we are today. The Intaki Security and Intelligence [KISEC]. Organizations of their standards are in few numbers presently.

Thinking further, I would add Jude Kopenhagen and Tiberious Thessalonia to my list. I also tended to lump Ava and Kyllsa together, so by default I would like to see both.

- Stormcrows, Kohiko Sun in particular - If I wasn't such a pacifist, I might have joined them.
- Anslo - As much as we personally didn't get along in the end, as far as I can tell he seemed to be making a positive contribution to the cluster overall.
- Tiberious Thessalonia - How many would try to help someone on the other side of a heated argument, that accused you of slander, save face? Now I know he's gone to, I miss his voice of reason.

Flew with Anslo waaaay back before he became a 'thing'. Have to admit he had balls even then. No doubts or hesitation throwing his Carrier around anywhere. Given that the two of us rub each other very much the wrong way, I can not say I miss him. We are simply incompatible creatures and New Eden becomes so very small when you're a capsuleer. Too 'edgy' for me.
That said, credit where credit's due, he did become something far more than I had him pegged for. Vastly surpassed my expectations. There should be a word for people who's accomplishments you respect, but just don't want to deal with yourself. |

Oh, a great many faces...
Among allies and friends:
- Hitome Kei, a pilot with an open heart and immense strength who saved me from myself.
- Abbess Ashlar Kor-Azor, a woman with an indomitable will and vision.
- Invelious, whose leadership and combat abilities I always envied.
- Lady Repentence Tyrathlion
- Math'ra Heide, another pilot I miss flying with.
- William 'dibblebill', who bore more than his fair share of pain but did so proudly.
I can't say you, Graelyn, since you've apparently decided to rise up out of the metaphorical grave.
Among those who I happened to find myself on opposing political sides: Ava Starfire and Matariki Rain, who despite our disagreements always proved amenable to cooperation and discussion.

In no particular order to name a few whom I miss while flying in the void.
Myrhial Arkenath - Companion, friend and the Angel welcomed me to the Cartel. Ethan Verone - Mentor and a dear friend who was there for me when I needed one. Yishal - You taught me so much about frigate combat. Koshmarnaya Akula - He who taught me the magnificence of capitals. Kimochi Rendar - You gatecamped my heart. You'll always hold a piece of it. Nausea - Wingwoman and a dear friend who taught me how to live life the Caldari way. Ava Starfire - Firebrand, best wolf pilot in the cluster. Much as we were diametrically opposed, you were my friend. Abhaya Meshdatar - With you in it the cluster was a little less dark and the stars shone brighter. Newtonius Rex - My first friend among the Capsuleers. Sophie Starsparrow - Not a day goes by that I don't miss you. Whittenoom - Cookies par none. Vaden Khale - Trusted friend, noone drops the Drop like you. Jude Kopenhagen - Forever stoic mercenary.

Ideology can become an encompassing obsession in truth, and losing perspective is an occupational hazard. From the remove of many years of retirement I can say that mistakes were made, many mistakes, and there are numerous examples of things that could have been done better, conflicts that might have been averted, alliances that should have been made, and victories won which eluded us at the time the fighting was fierce and immediate.
Yet without passion and without commitment there is seldom achievement and history cannot be written by those lacking in fire and dynamism however much we know the academic consequences of ideological excess.
In truth I have few regrets, one must live with the legend writ by earlier selves and the serial consciousness of the infomorphic posthuman immortal lends scant credence to an awareness mired in miserable cul-de-sac, and those times I have found myself genuinely repentant or emotionally broken I've scorched the ground of branch clone memory and taken only what the endurance self needs of experience to continue the line.
Though mostly content these days to subvert imperialist memetic control by planetside organization and grass roots resistance I do interface with the capsule from time to time to remind myself of the grandeur of the stars and mechanisms of revolution we once employed in conflicts the length and breadth of civilized space.
Our businesses run via respectable shell companies and automated factories seem still to function, apparently I'm still worth hundreds of billions of statist currency - and its somewhat ridiculous to walk down the gantries of now silent mothballed fraction bases and see the ranks of combat ships and capital vessels waiting ... who knows for what.
Perhaps one day the Black Plan will activate it's sleepers and the Free Captains rise from the slumber.
Until then I'll sometimes be a tourist amongst the sights of New Eden.
Age has not entirely dimmed the madness that made me fly so close to the flame of anarchy and revolution and enduring resistance to the dead hand of cultural imperialist contagion.
A salute to those who still fight wherever they might now be. Posthumanity is worth more than it is now. Revolution will come.

Oh of that I'm quite sure, I'd be lying if I said I didn't entirely enjoy blowing up a couple of Goonswarm Citadels in Fade with the Pandemic Horde Fleet last summer. I didn't bring much more to the effort than a doctrine cruiser but was good to see so many young posthumans fleeting up to shoot imperialist hierarchy right in the ugly face!

Ah please don't talk of honor Deitra Vess, I spent the first decade of my life as a capsuleer fighting such notions of hierarchy and social deference. I've always been proudest to be considered a comrade-soldier by those opposing the instrumentality of the state, and never considered myself more vital than a line combatant and fellow-traveller of progressive revolutionary forces wherever they make their stand. We post-humans are nothing if not equal in all the ways that truly matter, our practical immortality of ideals and idealism and perseverance in the face of physical annihilation marks more commonality than passing social mores might award esteem or fleeting notoriety besides.
It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I assure you most of the stories are entirely true.
