New staff are always fun to introduce to life at CCP. Hazing is an important ritual, sending them for coffee or tea is a hoot and watching them groan after a combination of a long (but fun!) work day and even longer evening on the town is a sight not to be missed.
But enough about that, it's time to read the introduction from Chronotis himself. Life in Polaris û Inside Scoop on the æother sideÆ.

The link should be active now, the recent technical difficulties prevented me from publishing the blog at the same time I made this announcement.

Not yet, but then there are still a large number of modules & ships that provide adequate margin to be attractive despite the increasing number of people getting into invention. It will get interesting from a medium term supply & demand perspective how things turn out between the constant baseline supply from the BPO's and the irregular supply from invented BPC manufacture. On many items we will see a settling of prices as demand picks up at the lower prices to meet the supply. For eg, I have not flown a cerberus, deimos or vagabond for a long time due to being poor, but the prices now are approaching levels where they can be attractive to the casual player on lower income and thus demand picks up. Certainly good times for the industrialist wallets between increasing exposure to T2 and a ripe T1 market where as they say, war is good for business.
Getting back to the point, there are several changes being tabled which will most likely be done for kali 2 which include increasing the drop rate of encryption skills, changing the loot drop focus of encryptors away some from cosmos (it is already increasingly exploration site based, and will become moreso), The bottleneck with mechanical engineering datacores may change to either decrease demand or increase supply by either changing the demand from say 4/4 ship/mech. eng datacore to 6/2 ship/mech. eng. On the supply side we could increase the range of datacore offered by Research agents to some outside their field if possible. Needless to say, it is being looked at and will get attention and love it deserves as we start building the foundations of next generation manufacturing and overhauling the base systems each time we go.
The key point being, as we get more feedback and able to data mine the effects of the system, we can change and enhance it to be better and make sure its a solid foundation to start next-generation manufacturing. I will be monitoring the station, starbases & outposts aka Science & Industry forum (must remember to badger keiron and wrangler and suggest name changes) and the features, ideas and discussion forum for any constructive feedback or ideas rest assured.

hehe, that was the average day, in the past week, I have started work at 6.30am, sometimes finished at 10pm on other days. Once summer hits and its permanently light here, I am sure I will be working stranger hours still as my body wonders what time it is. This could be the reason why beer is good as you know what time it is to sleep when the beer lets you.
As its project based environment, the workloads rise and fall and thus so do my hours worked. The difference to my last job being this one is interesting and dare I say fun :)
If your looking for jobs, just head over to the Jobs page, with a hundred jobs on offer, you can try your best anyway, Just remember, ISD membership goes a long way and almost all the staff hired are former ISD.

That actually sounds like a decent idea, and logical too. Mechanical Engineering is in vast overdemand because they are used for all ships, and then plenty of other items. While being the source of the problem, this implies that mechanical engineering is sort of a universal baseline in technological construction works - something without which you can't construct anything, because even if you have the specialized stuff, you lack a base frame to put it on. However, this base frame should at the same time be only a small part of the project. Reducing the need of M.E. cores and increasing the need of "specialized" cores (i.e. the specific faction starship designs) makes perfect sense.
I like it

Haha sorry guys but I'm planning on sucking up so much to Oveur, Tomb and the other devs on the fanfest that they don't want me to leave and offer me a job.
Seriously though : I am planning to mail a CV and start as a GM and work my way up by studying python during my off hours.
I know the chances are slim since they probebly have loads of applications each day but heck if you don't try you'll never get it anyhow
