E&B was the first mmo I played, I consider it the reason for me ever playing a MMO..
I followed some buddys to SWG and fell absolutely in love with MMO'S, that is until SOE went Kung Foo on it like a Hoice Gracy arm bar...
I actualy played eve before I went to swg, but that was before rookie channel and tutorials, so this game made 0 sence to me at the time....

I was in EnB Galileo under the same name until it closed. The Eve Corps Celestial Horizons and The Merchant Marines were huge corps of ex-EnB players who migrated to Eve. CLS is fairly mixed nowadays. |

I was a Earth and Beyond player on Andromeda, my main was a Progen warrior
I still boycott EA for what they did.
I was actually in eve before they announced the closing of the game, my guild decided to come to eve against my warning.
My guild was not prepared for the harshness of eve, we were all pve, and most of them never pvp'd, Earth and beyond was a totally different type of game , much more social and progression in eve is based on power and isk.
Within 2 months my guild ripped itself apart from within

Earth and beyond was my first MMO aswell, i liked some features but tbh it wasnt deep enough like other mmo's, and you had alot less freedom.
i played anarchy online, SWG, city of heroes, Myth of soma, ragnarok online, WoW, Probably more cant remember... And then EVE which has kept me entertained for like 2 years so i guess its gotta be the best one since i usualy quit after a month or 2.

Played both, E&B was fun for a bit but never really gelled for me, always seemed a bit fake - immersion wasn't good for me :/
SWG I really, really REALLY wanted to love, but couldn't, they messed it up so badly. I gave up playing before the whole NGE fiasco, so I left around the time of random profession grinding to open the force-sensitive slot.
Such a shame, both games had such huge potential, but thrown away by stupid design decisions

Pegasus galaxy, L150 PW (Vmir) and a L147 JW. I was the only person I ever saw using L9 mortars, but I couldn't help myself I had to use a lvl 6 progen shield with +reactor recharge (forgot what it was called? Waterloo?) so my shields went 0 to full in 2 seconds Used up just the right amount of ammo to pick up everything from those Voltoi in Antares.
Killing those space broccoli was fun, too. Anybody remember what they were called?
Nostalgia Too bad EA killed a great game. Although it would've become obsolete once I discovered eve

I played EnB all the way through the beta (starting with the closed "alpha").
It was neat to see the game evolve as the devs put it together.
Anywho, after a few months of that the game went gold and I stopped playing :P

I miss that game, I haven't bought an EA game since (though C&C 3 is looking very tempting)
Anyone else miss the fishbowl?

Edited by: Nai Ling on 20/04/2007 20:49:16 I played both.
I had 1 of everything in ENB. I got bored with it after a couple months.
SWG, I was a Master Artisan/Master Tailor/Master Pistoleer for about a year. Then the Combat upgrade came, and I could no longer hunt and craft with the same character. He then became a Master Pistoleer/Master Carbineer/Master Bounty Hunter, with some Rifleman thrown in. (Scylla Server, Helios Resident + Shop owner)
I quit when they released the No Game Enjoyment (NGE). _______________________________________________

EnB was my first MMOG also, though I never got above about 80 on a character (Galileo server).
But you're about 3 years too late.
My corp is responsible for bringing many EnB players to Eve. At one time we had hundreds of refugees thanks to the work of Tarpeia, our first CEO and founder, known as Ishkur here. We were doing pretty well even before the cancellation was announced, thanks to Tarp's work.
EnB is also responsible for Eve's first growing pains. The population shot up almost overnight and the devs had to upgrade the hardware to handle all the new accounts.
At one time there were thousands of ex-EnB players in Eve. There may still be, but we have dispersed to all corners of the galaxy, so it's hard to tell.
At any rate, it's pretty hard not to find former EnB players in Eve. The same holds true to SWG, since basically the same thing happened after the NGE began.

Aloha! My character on Ahazi was the same name I hold now. Also had a Master Shipwright/Armorsmith named Big Bux :-)
Of course I left after the NGE hit and never looked back. Anyone know if SWG has changed at all sense I left? I got banned from the forums for my EXTREME negative outpouring on the forums :-) It was the only time I ever got banned from any forums and I was so proud of myself Gave me an excuse to rid myself of any and all things SOE related forever.
Sorry for beating a dead horse, I just can't help myself sometimes
