I know that to create a Titan you have to manufacture hulls of ships, weapons, etc.. But can you create other ships by putting together different hulls? If yes, how? Also, are ther eany different types of space stations? |

Hello and welcome to Eve.
Tech 3 Strategic Cruisers are the only type of ships that can be customized with various Sub-systems to basically create different hulls for various applications.
I'll let someone else answer the question about stations.

As DeMichael mentioned... Tech 3 Cruisers are the closest to what you are looking for. (see: you build the hull and can then modify the hull (and thus bonuses of the ship) by changing the "subsystems" on it).
Outside of that... - ships cannot be "combined" - aspects of different ships cannot be "cherry picked" and then slapped on to a hull of your choosing.
There are some technical and gameplay reasons for this... but the simple answer is pretty much "no."
NOTE: Know that there is a bit of a debate regarding Tech 3 ships (in general) and their overall power in the game. Many view some of their configurations as "too powerful for their class" and want the entire ship line and concept to be revised. So do not see them as a "how ships should be." They are more exceptions to the general paradigm of EVE than anything else.
de Obliviator Preon wrote:If yes, how? Also, are ther eany different types of space stations? From smallest to largest:
- Mobile Hub (see: "Space Yurt"): As its nickname implies, this is essentially a "tent" that you can base some "light operations" from. You cannot dock in it, but being near it offers you some ship services like refitting, storage, and "rally point."
- Player Owned Starbases (see: "POS"): Basically these are little "spires" / "sticks" with giant "bubble" shields around them. You cannot dock in these structures, but you can leave stuff lying around in the shield bubble without too much concern (unless you have untrustworthy friends). They can only be anchored around planetary moons and serve a myriad of roles from forward outposts for fleets, to moon mining, to manufacturing. NOTE: They are slated to be phased out in the distant future. Expect a lot of forward notice from the DEVs before this happens.
- Planetary Owned Customs Office (see: "POCO"): Large "warehouses" that you can only set up around planets. You cannot dock in these, but they do serve the purpose of allowing you (and others) to extract resources from a planet. The person who owns the POCO can tax the planetary resources of others.
- Citadels / Engineering Complexes: Some of the newest structures in the game. These are only set up by players, for other players. They range in size from "Medium," "Large," to "Extra Large"... are VERY expensive... have nominal defensive abilities (in High-Security space)... and can act in any role that the owner wants them to (provided they are configured a certain way). You can potentially dock in these places, but bear in mind that you may need permission from the owning player corporation / alliance. And that permission can be revoked for any reason at any time.
- Outposts: Like Citadels... these are player owned, serve a myriad of roles, can be docked in, and have configurable docking access. Unlike Citadels, these structures have no defensive abilities and can only be found in 0.0 space. However they are pretty much "immortal." Note: Like the POS, these structures are slated to be "phased out" in the future. They first steps have already been taken to make this possible.

A long long time ago while docked in station there was a graphics glitch that would combine your last used ship with a newly chosen ship creating some very cool images. Course when you un-docked, the glitch would go away.
Here's 2 different custom ships created by random.
Anyway, as others have already said, you currently can't create unique ships in Eve.

Players cannot create new custom/unique ships, or new custom/unique ship modules, or any other custom/unique items.
Every single item in the game that a player can use is checked, reviewed and tested by the game management before it goes into the game. Part of this is to try to keep a level of balance between different ships and ship modules. Allowing players to create their own custom/unique ships which don't fit CCP's methods/guidelines of keeping the game balanced would probably break the gameplay.
A couple of years ago CCP added new "skins" for ships, meaning there were new paint schemes players could put on their ships. All of those paint schemes had been designed by CCP. Different ships had different paint schemes available to them. Paint scheme X could be used on ships A, B , C, and D. Paint scheme Y could be used on ships E, F, G and H, etc. Some players found a way to use the new paint schemes on ships that were not supposed to have that paint scheme, which means there were players who were using paint scheme X on ships CCP had never meant it to be used on.
These were just paint schemes on the outside of the ships, nothing else about the ships changed, just the way they looked on players screens.
When CCP found out that players had found a way to use the new (designed by CCP) paint schemes on ships that CCP had not meant them for, they pulled the new paint schemes from the game and applied a bug patch to stop players from using the paint schemes on the "wrong" ships. The paint schemes came back to the game, after CCP made sure players could only use those paint schemes on the ships CCP allowed.
Now there might be very genuine technical reasons why CCP reacted the way they did over the ship skins, but if they are this touchy over which paint schemes players can use on each ship, there is no way CCP would allow players to develop their own unique ships. Human nature being what it is, there will be far too many players who would make overpowered/unbalanced ships which give players that use them an unreasonable advantage. |
