I read here about an hour ago about the 'Silence the Informant' mission, destroy the pleasure hub get the science book bit. I've been running missions now for about a month and it never occured to me to do this, anything else you think I might have been missing? The loot was very much the best I've had ever.
Thanks in advance.

Newbie here, but I was under the impression that this mission was added recently. Only in the past week have I started noticing missions with non-combat destructable objects appearing on the overlay like a deadspace complex has. Ones that don't appear on the overlay generally don't drop anything of value.
And yes, Silence the Informant has been the best so far. I have only gotten the mission once, but received 2 science books from it.

You call them "secrets", others simply say "just shoot everything you can target, can't miss it". There used to / are / will be plenty of normal missions with things you seem to call "secrets".
Several "large collidable" structures/objects drop loot more or less regularly/randomly, so the first order of bussiness in any new mission (that goes for every different mission level, mind you) is to pretty much destroy everything a couple of times (different missions, duuh) and see what drops something (and if it's worth it). Usually, the dropped loot is not worth the ammo/time spent on destroying the structure (except cases like L3 silence the informant), either because the loot is utter crap, or because the structure takes what feels like forever to kill solo (try killing a "War installation" or "Battletower" in anything other than a BS, for instance).
Of course, I suppose you do know about "bonus levels" already ? Those that need a "key" to access ? Which is usually a tag you must buy off the market (different for each mission/level) ? The tag is supposed to be "one shot" (used up on gate activation), but so far, in these missions, it never was used up for me, so you can just resell or keep for later use... that is, unless they "fix" the "bug". The station at the end of Serpentis Extravaganza can be destroyed. After 1000 cruise misiiles I discovered the little know secret its used to store the Serpentis Factions only mining laser and small tech one railgun.

In Silence the informat there are usually 2 building in all levels. the one dropping the loot is different in the different levels.
It is usually a [specific field] science skillbook, rarely a minor implant, uncommon uranium, and some miscellaneous item.
It is one of the best missions for loot from a building.

There are also 3 different versions of Silence the Informant for levels 2, 3 and 4. And the lvl2 structure drops the best loot (I think its a deadspace overseer structure btw, not a large collidable object, those DO only drop junk for all I know) while I don't think the L4 has a loot-dropping structure at all.

AFAIK Silence the Informant lvl 3 drops the science books. Level 4 versions drops nada, zilch, zero. Haven't got anything worth from the lvl 4 versions, besides the "good loot". --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many
