Subject: Alpha Clone Question
Thread Subject: Alpha Clone Question (version 1, question 1)
Sub-forum title: EVE General Discussion
Forum title: EVE Communication Center
of the EVE Forums...
Question (1): Can I log in my pod-pilot characters from which accounts have expired, for example: http://eveboard.com/pilot/Sol_Hemah "Your Omega subscription expired on 16 November 2013" ?
ok, this guy only has 2,912,808 SP ... But he is a barge miner.
What about a pilot with over 5 million SP like: http://eveboard.com/pilot/Hos_Orlenard ?
Will it also be able to log in? (with 602m ISK)
Answer (1) [to question (1) above]: _(Y/N)_ _(names, pilot, orgs)________________________________________________ _(time)___________________________________________________________ _(likes #)_________________________________________________________ .
I have some 10 Alpha Clones or so... I am not too sure about what is a main pod-pilot status once they become alpha clones yet... I'm just trying to analyze this in more depth before it is changed so that I can figure it out. That would let me log in a lot of pilots for scouting or Region trading, or some other nifty EVE options, like mass mining PI, hauling (even if without moon mining yet).
Also, I may not be able to answer on the forums for the simple reason that my account expires in 0 days... I don't think that Alpha clones from expired (or inactive) accounts can post on the forums. I'm also pretty sure this forum poster's account is an alpha clone, but it's currently on an active account which is able to post on the forums...
Thanks in Advance for the answers, and please keep it civilized. If it is more military than only civilized, please make it good. If it is more savage than civilized, please don't push it.

In no particular order:
1a. All accounts (even old "deactivated" accounts) are considered Alpha accounts now. You simply need to log in, verify that you are the owner of the account (via an email that will sent to the account's registered email address), and then log in again.
2a. Alpha character do have some hefty restrictions.
- They will not have access to all skills as an Alpha - If you have an older account with lots of skills trained, the non-Alpha skills will be disabled (but will still be there) - Skills you do have access to will train at half speed - They will not be able to partake in some activities (ex. Planetary Interaction)
- In terms of combat, Alphas can only use ships up to cruisers - in terms of mining, Alphas can only use the Venture mining frigate (no barges) - Alphas are limited to the racial ships of their character's race - Alphas cannot use Tech 2 equipment
- You cannot log in multiple Alpha accounts at the same time. This is to prevent multiboxing with "infinite" characters.
With regards to the 5 million Skillpoints thing... that is not a hard limit. It is simply a rough estimate of the amount of skillpoints that Alpha clones have access to.
edit: also... your post format is a little difficult to decipher. Can you post a little more... normal? Perhaps bullet point what you wish to know?

Drones are usable with a short amount of training (light scout drones for all races, medium for Gallente and Amarr IIRC). If you play your cards right with the mini skill injector in the tutorial, you can fall out at the end with Drones 3 and Light Drone Operation 1 trained so you can immediately equip your free Venture mining ship with two Hobgoblin I's (or equivalent) to defend you from highsec belt rats or run combat missions in your Venture.
(The Venture threatens the common wisdom that there's no "best" anything in EVE)
Mining drones however are specifically NOT available to Alpha characters (frequently asked question).

What about implants?
(Your Omega subscription expired on 30 January 2017, and still posting...)
Looks like I will be doing Region Trading with some T1 hauling, until I can get a PLEX, which is around 446m over the 600m on my bomber pilot. That works good in Bestower.
I think one may also be unable to log an Omega clone and an Alpha clone at the same time... I don't know , since I never tested it, but we used to be unable to log in Trial accounts while active accounts were logged in.
Free alpha haulers for the win. No more warping around endless system just to get some drugs, ammo, blue items and green faction modules. And the nanite paste too, of course, I almost forgot that.
Like a ++ber meal service, but without the cow and the ++ber. Torpedo delivery some?

You can't log in any other account (alpha or omega) once you've logged in with an alpha. Just like before, with trial accounts.
As far as implants and other restrictions, everything Alpha is limited via the skills, actually. So Alphas have access to train the skill Cybernetics to 1 square, meaning that +3 implants will work ok (they only require Cybernetics 1), but +5 implants or high grade hardwiring won't work (they require Cybernetics at 5).
Jump clones: Alphas have the skill Infomorph Psychology at 1, so they can install ONE clone. The skill regulates creating new clones, NOT using existing ones, so if you have multiple jump clones, you can still jump between them, but if something happens and you lose one, you won't be able to re-create it.
Ships that have T2 rigs, T2 guns, or other Omega modules installed: you won't be able to undock the ship. If you're in space at the moment of going Alpha, you can get to a station then won't be able to undock the ship.
Contracts: limited to 1, won't be able to create more contracts until all your current ones end or are canceled.
Market orders / market taxes = limited by the lower Alpha skills, won't be able to create more orders until you have fewer than the Alpha limits, and the new ones you create as Alpha will have higher taxes and broker fees. |

It does work to transfer items to another trader although it's only useful for hauling since all alphas will get the same prices (offer and demand).

I do not believe that T2 rigs are limited to Omegas and would like clarification. A while back, rigs were changed so that you did not need a skill level to install the rig. Skill level only impact the amount of drawback applies. This would mean an alpha could use a t2 rig. |

Electronic Superiority Rigging=2 from 1
Electronic Superiority Rigging is an Alpha clone skill, however, Alpha clone skills can only be stacked up to the previous 24 hours queue maximum.
