As in the subject, since when do CCP delete threads? I understand locking threads against the rules, but I wasn't aware threads could be outright deleted if they are inconvenient.
I personally find censorship like this to be bad for reputation, it's like something out of big brother where dissenters are vanished.

Welcome to EVE. BTW.
These are private servers owned by CCP.
They can delete anything they want to.
Deal with it, snowflake.
Everything in EVE is a trap.
And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Nothing new.
I'm not sure where the ability to hide/delete threads sits, whether ISDs can do it, or only CCP staff. I suspect the latter, but it's only a guess. |

Lol
Sure they can delete things if they want, but it makes them look like they're scared of certain things being talked about. Is it really being a special snowflake to talk about deleting of threads? A locked thread is visible, people can read it and form opinions. A deleted thread is not, the ideas shared are banned and no reason is given. Up to you to judge if that's good business practice.

Their servers. Their right.
The only threads I've ever seendeleted/hidden have been ones that broke the rules we all agreed to abide by.
In the same way that individual posts in threads get removed because they break the rules, threads also get removed because they break the rules. There's nothing magical about an opening post that mean the thread must stay around. |

I posted in a thread in General Discussion this morning and it was deleted. No trace of the topic or record of the post that I made.
So yes, CCP is deleting threads. Go to Reddit where the real Eve discussion takes place.
These forums have gone down the drain. |

No surprise it was removed. |

I agree that the right is with the owners of the site. I think also that some things get some latitude, like quitting posts moved to oope or simple locking of threads.
On the other hand, some things are blatantly disregarding multiple or serious violation rules and do not serve anyone by being viewed. Discussion of exploits or 'bugs' in particular.
I sympathize with the user this thread refers to, but think doing the wrong thing even if you are in the right is still wrong. File a ticket, give your evidence and just wait. I would sooner see justice fall too heavy then not at all.
Oh, and IB4L.
