It can be a cake without baking, as infact most cakes are. When is the last time you had a "baked" cake? Yesterday, it was a chocolate cake that was baked in an oven, which negates your next point.
Quote:You cant bake a chocolate cake, You might not be able to, many others can.

Salvos Rhoska wrote:Its cheeseCAKE. Therefore, cake. Also as it has layers. Its not a pie, because pies have a pastry covering or rim. It does include cheese, typically cream cheese or ricotta.
Wrong on all accounts. By the same argument kittylitter contains cat... Not all pies have a pastry covering, some pies do indeed have layers and many cheesecakes do have a crust, like pie. There is nothing better than an awesome slice of pie with the possible exception of a fantastic slice of cheesecake.

All pies have a crust. All cakes have layers.
Pie =/= Cake.
Cheesecakes are cakes, and include cheese.

Salvos Rhoska wrote:All pies have a crust. No they don't, I can think of 3 varieties of apple pie that don't have one (or at least a top one). Swedish Apple Pie, where the "crust" is actually more akin to what is known as a crumble, Dutch Apple Pie is open at the top and French Apple Pie is baked upside down so that the apples caramelise and form the top.
Quote:All cakes have layers. No they don't, Carrot Cake has no layers, Fairy Cakes have no layers, nor do Pound Cake and Fruit Cake
Nobody said otherwise.
Quote:Cheesecakes are cakes, and include cheese. Still wrong, cheesecake can be a pie, a cake or a torte (tart) depending on the way it has been made.
This thread is now about the differences between pie, cake and tarts

Name me a pie that is not baked.
Name me a cake that is not layered.
All cheesecakes, are cakes. Its implicit in the name. If they do not include cheese, and are not cakes, they are not cheesecakes.

So did we establish a clear leader here? Cake, cheescake or pie? Or bacon to rule them all...?

Not those crappy jam-on-a-cracker things ye Americans call tarts but a legitimate apple or rubarb tart. Quite similar in fact to what ye call pie but being superior in both being appropriately named and insular* in nature.

Quote: 2. Be respectful toward others at all times.
The purpose of the EVE Online forums is to provide a platform for exchange of ideas, and a venue for the discussion of EVE Online. Occasionally there will be conflicts that arise when people voice opinions. Forum users are expected to be courteous when disagreeing with others.
3. Ranting is prohibited.
A rant is a post that is often filled with angry and counterproductive comments. A free exchange of ideas is essential to building a strong sense of community and is helpful in development of the game and community. Rants are disruptive, and incite flaming and trolling. Please post your thoughts in a concise and clear manner while avoiding going off on rambling tangents.
23. Post constructively.
Negative feedback can be very useful to further improve EVE Online provided that it is presented in a civil and factual manner. All users are encouraged to honestly express their feelings regarding EVE Online and how it can be improved. Posts that are non-constructive, insulting or in breach of the rules will be deleted regardless of how valid the ideas behind them may be. Users are also reminded that posting with a lack of content also constitutes non-constructive posting.
