This is the 4th occurence out of 5 patch updates I have had to do this. I go to log in, and the normal 'incompatable release' messages are up on the log-in screen. I click 'connect', and it asks if I would like to download the new patch. I say 'yes'.... nothing happens. I can sit for an hour without messing with anything, and the patch does not begin to download.
So, I come onto this webpage to try and manually install the patch, except in the area that gives you the options, it is yet to be available and ends up taking me to a screen requesting I download the client.
The only way I can find around this is to reinstall eve. Once I reinstall eve, it allows me to download the new patch and everything is fine and dandy (except having to reorganise all of my bookmarks and reset all of my chat windows).
This being the 4th occurence out of 5, it is seriously beginning to get old. If someone could help me find out what on earth I could be doing wrong (clicking 'connect' and fallowing the prompts *seems* pretty simple), I would really appreciate it.
Is anyone else having this incredibly aggrivating issue?!?!?!

One thing that helps with the issue is, instead of downloading it again every time, the next time you download the client, after you reinstall it, don't delete the set-up file. Tuck it away for when the issue occures again. (I would say *if* the issue occures again, except, with CCPs record, we all know it will)

Edited by: green out on 24/04/2007 12:21:31 Every time there is a new patch, I also have to re-download the new full build. I understand that the patches are a good thing which we should encourage and in the larger scale of life it's a minor annoyance, but hell is it getting rather tedious now. My problem isnt with downloading the patch, but applying it. It always fails on resui.stuff. After working through search results in the forum and the FAQ section, it used to be possible to download resui.stuff alone and work around the problem that way (I'm assuming others have the same problem ?) but that file link is no longer active. Any suggestions on how to apply the patch successfully would be great

Why dont u people try waiting till end of scheduled DT before logging in. Its amazingly simple and works. DT Today will be 08.00- 1300 trying to download patch at 11.47 probably isnt going to work. My client says exactly the same thing if i try to log in early. But hey presto wait till after DT and NP.

Edited by: Silpher on 24/04/2007 13:01:15 Before the scheduled end of DT, after the scheduled end. It still happens. It's not unusual that DT, especially extended DT to end early. Not to mention, even though DT hasn't ended yet, after I reinstalled the program, it downloaded the patch with no issue.
And my client doesn't say anything. It just refuses to download the patch. Nothing happens. There's no error message, there's no action. It simply does not work. Even if I wait untill after DT, it still does not work. The only way i can find to resolve the issue is reinstalling the program.

Dunno then coz i have the exact same thing happen to me if i try updating early, which i presume is because they havent finished working on servers etc, so i simply wait for a bit and try again and it works, on patch days this is usually anything upto an hour after DT, Today it worked at 13.03 installed patch no problem.
