Hi, I've just jumped into a Minmatar Rupture Cruiser with 45 km max tracking range, but when I checkout my actual max tracking range it's about 22 km.
How do I increase my tracking range? Is there equipment out there that would help in addition to the "Long Range Tracking" skill?
Thanks, Transvaal

Tracking Computers and Tracking Enhancers add to your optimal range. I am not sure if you are referring to targetting/lock range or actual gun damage range though.

Long range Targeting to increase your maximum locking range.
Sharpshooter to increase your weapons optimal range
Trajectory Analysis to increase your weapons falloff range
Although... you saying you have a 22km locking range is a pretty dead giveaway that (since it's exactly HALF of the base) you have a Warp Core Stabiliser installed, take it off :)

Remove your Warp Core Stabilizer, instant +50% locking range ...
Here's a hint : do a "show info" on the modules you use/want to use.

Hey all,
Thanks for the help. And in response to the sarcasm, do remember that there is a lot to read for a new player. Why would a warp stabiliser harm my lock-on range?
Cheers, Transvaal

Read the module's attributes. It increases your targeting time and lowers your targetting range.

The reason why is because they had become so frequent in PVP that it was more likely come up against a ship with stabs than one without. CCP decided that they wanted people to commit to combat without being able to run away when ever they wanted (at least not without some player skill involved).
So they put a penalty on warp core stabs that made it difficult to fight if you had warp core stabs on, specially if you had multiple and was a sniper. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |
