Edited by: AonChilo on 05/05/2007 04:59:34 If you are running Missions, is it harder for Pirates to scan you down or about the same as if you were just in any SS somewhere. Does it require more or better skills? Does it take longer? Are specific probes required?

They'd be hard pressed to find you, since you're in a "non-inline area" that's extremely far away from celestial objects, and is randomly generated even if its the same mission twice.
I suppose they could find you with persistence, but I think you'd generally be out of a mission area by the time they made any headway on a search. It also helps that missions tend to occur in high security systems... cept for the really high ranked ones.

This is untrue. If they want to find you, and know how, and many do, they can find you very quickly. Perhaps not as quickly as at a SS, but quickly enough.

While it's true that it is more difficult to fins someone in a DED pocket all it means is the accuracy (irrelivent) and number of trys increases. If they know how to find you they will find you, most probers are 30/40s a cycle, a dedicated pilot can push that down to 25.

If you do missions in low sec, then yes, you can be a target. However, you have one advantage.
Even if they find you on their scanner, they cannot warp to you directly. Especially if the mission has an acceleration gate. For them to get to you, they can only warp to that gate. They thus have to warp in to the mission at the same point you started at.
So, the easy way to protect yourself is simple. As soon as you enter a mission, fly away from the warp in point! The further the better. This will give you lots of time to warp out if they try to jump you.

Ya, if you are doing a mission that's a deadspace, just keep an eye out. When you see them coming in, warp to ANYTHING. Just get out of there, something you're already pointed towards if you can. Then after that warp to another random thing. Then a gate and get the hell outta there.

Just warp to a station tbh, if you're busted, and take a breather while they get frustrated and leave.

the only problem tho is that your mission zone has been exposed and they can quite happily bookmark it and leave, wait for you to return and then come back to bm easily

If it's a ded-space thingy, they can only warp back to the acceleration gate again, regardless of where they placed a bookmarak inside.
