Hey guys n CCP!
Many of you have seen this video of an alternative warp effect but since ccp shouted out to us to give them more ideas for graphical improvments I want to show you this video:

Seen this back when the warp formula was being redesigned along with the new animation. I feel the current acceleration and deceleration into and from warp speed is wayyyyyy too curve based. You are literally going the speed of light so to speak. Your ship should in theory be instantly at max warp speed. You can still base warp speeds off of AU/S based on ship types, I find it better to have a carrier instantly hit max warp and travel at a slower cruising speed and then exit warp instantly than to watch it slide into a stopping point at a speed slow enough to make TiDi feel like crack speed.
Honestly I like this effect and wish warp speed curves were a thing of the past. |

Idk I turn them off, my warp tunnel is just gray clouds. Now it's all messed up and it looks like I'm under water and theres all sorts of planets and stuff and it looks like they're melting an dmoving around like the image is being distorted behind really hot air. And I can't figure out how to turn it off. |

There is a tactical reason big ships land on grid slowly. It's to give those on grid time to react. I don't see why they can't enter warp with a boom, new warp animations would be cool. Hardly the top of my list though.
A case for more AoE in EvE

If I'm killih belt NPCs I will usually target all of them 4 times over, launch my drones and turn on my guns and oh wait I'm still in warp. |

Why give anyone time to react? Having a fleet just bamf into the grid would be cool.
If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

...and broken. Fun, yes, but also broken.
"Tomahawks?"
"----in' A, right?"
"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."
"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I dont see anything broken about it...honestly you have local chat, combat probes, and D-Scan to inform you a fleet is in the area and could be landing on you...Having ships appear out of nowhere has been happening since EVE has been host to jump drives, cynos, and bridging. Blops occur everyday and it can be exciting for both ends, the thrill of a hot drop. Really...in what time frame can you react anyway seeing a ship exiting warp. tackle will go ahead so as to not be slowed by slowest ship in fleet. |
