Hi, i will get straight to the point.....i am currently looking for a new corp/ home ...in the recruitment channel i posted my interest for looking for a new corp i was then contacted via private chat about joining a corp in the Goonswarm Fed after interesting me with what they could offer they made me apply via goonfleet.org once i registered i was then told that i was identified as a medium risk for some unknown reason to the alliance and in order to join i had to pay 500mil to get in the corp and alliance.
Is this common practice? as i thought i was a scam at the time... does anyone else know about this?

So I hear. Not that I'm a GM, they rule in such matters.
Otherwise, we aren't allowed to scam anymore. We'd all sleep better if you mailed the name of the perpetrator to one of our Alliance Directors, so the approprite actions could be taken.

Need to say i haven't seen threads about it for like a year? Didn't think they are still in business.

I have absolutely no ties to Goonswarm, but as others pointed out there where some scammers in the past who tricked people into giving them ISK.
Don't accept the offer if he is not willing to jump your stuff out to null. Once you have contracted all your stuff over and it is on its way to null you can safely pay the 500mil ISK and join them in nullsec.

I thought it was just Karmafleet that can't scam, GSF still can. There was the Nyx recruitment scam recently where the dude jumped to a goon cyno before he actually joined the corp.

Of course it is a scam, go and speak to an official recruiter, perhaps contact Karmafleet as they are the newbie corp.
In any case as for moving stuff there don't, most big alliances have really good markets where you can buy what you want very easily. Move there with the bare minimum, such as an interceptor to get there and enough ISK for your ratting ship, VNI is a good bet and build it up from there.
When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

Not if you are in ETNY :p
Anyway, there is no fee to join karmafleet. Apply in game and follow instructions. When you are accepted you can get JF service to ship your stuff (if it's worth it). PS: do not accept any offer of moving your stuff until you are actually in the alliance. Scamming blues is utterly forbidden and those that do it find themselves in **** holes like PL very soon. |

If the cat was impersonating an actual recruiter it would fall under this,
2, B Passwords and Names.
No player may use the character name of another player to impersonate or falsely represent his or her identity.
Signatures wer cooler when we couldn't remove them completely.

They were also considered the tasteless guys of Eve, but for other reasons. But that was around 2008 - 2011. Later they got civilized. But by that time a lot of other people were already copying them. So nasty, outrageous, and tasteless became just... meh, standard stuff. |

Just trust them to be terrible, in everything. It's cute how you try to cheer each other up in the face of our superior killboard stats and all around supremacy.
