I can't figure out the difference The polys will buff your acceleration, turning ability and top speed.
The nozzles will buff accel and turning ability by a bit more, won't give any top speed buff, and will use less calibration to fit.

they are all used to measure and balance the same thing in different ways.
Inertia X mass = align time
but a ships mass can be used for other calculations like wormhole entry. A lightweight ship will suffer more from heavy plates, as a % of its agility and so on.
at least thats how i understand it. |

inertia and agility are the same thing. Some places it's called one thing, some places another. Modifier X mass = effective mass. That's determines acceleration. That includes any change in velocity in any direction, so yeah, it includes turning and stopping and how tightly you can hold your orbit. Higher effective mass means slower changes in velocity, so the lower the modifier the better. Align time is the commonly used terminology to describe actual agility, because it's something people can relate to better, and it has a practical in game use (it is the time to accelerate from 0m/s to 75% of your max speed in a straight line, that being how a ship enters warp from a standstill.)
As to the rigs try flying around in-game with istabs nanos and overdrives, figure out what balance of each you like best for whatever you are using the ship for. When you get an idea of what you like in test runs, get the rigs equivalents.

Agility defines how quickly a ship can change speed and direction. It's shown in the fitting window as align time (how fast a ship can go from 0 to 75% of top speed). Acceleration is not liner, and will be lower as the ship picks up speed. Agility has a lot to do with how easily someone can play dirty tricks on your ship while it's set to orbit/keep-at-range, or how carefully you have to fly manually to control range.
Speed is just speed. Or: how far something goes in a certain length of time.

Poly give a mediocre buff to turning speed / time to warp and max velocity at the cost of tank (you die faster). Friction nozzles give you a bigger buff to turning speed only, at the expense of signature radius (you can be hit better and stronger). Make your choice.

Nah, they both have an armour amount drawback. You are right ... I mixed it up with the inertial stabilizers. But those are low slot modules. Those details are not easy, and not always consistent.
