They even have a team for making new soundtracks and effects, which is something that is good. ive always been worried that they'd focus so much on the visuals that they'd keep the sounds of the old game mixed up with those of HL:2 and thus creating less satisfactory results.

I agree, the sound is just as important as the visuals. Luckily they seem to have found real talent in mr Nielsen, the title tune blew me away after I'd with supreme indifference clicked the link, and the others are top notch as well.
I loved and still love the original game (they'd better get the intro ride right) but I'm usually suspicious of mods and TCs, they often seem to lack... soul. Let's hope this isn't the case with BMS.

Now that's something I'd pay 5 bucks for.
HL1 may not rank high in it's story, but when it comes to premise, atmosphere, level design and gameplay ... wow. It's a masterpiece. I've beaten it more than a few times already.
