Fighters, rorquals and now this:
On rogue swarm accelerator is clearly written "The compounds are only guaranteed to function until YC119/30/06" on the whole world that would mean 30/06 till the end of the day, but not in EVE. 30 minutes ago CCP published that the accelerator can not be consumed after 29/06????????? Are you serious, really, again. |

If you check the in-game attributes it gives the specific time that the accelerator will work until, and it's been like this for all previous accelerators... |

so you consume one at 23:59:59 on the 29th and it will last until 23:59:59 on the 30th.

So - if you consume one at 23:59 on June 29 and it lasts 48 hours you get more than they promised. If it stops working at 23:59 on the 30th you get exactly what was promised.
Once consumed "The compounds are only guaranteed to function until YC119/30/06"
There is no suggestion that you can consume on June 30 and expect it to work until July 2. |

Well if you see no difference between "The compounds are only guaranteed to function until YC119/30/06" and expiry date is 2017.06.30 00:00:00 I can't really help you got to go back to school :(.
With dates the word GÇ£untilGÇ¥ seems to be ambiguous. LetGÇÖs turn to the IRS site for help. Naturally! It explains, GÇ£April 15 of each year is the due date for filing your Federal individual income tax return, if your tax year ends December 31. Your return is considered filed timely if the envelope is properly addressed and postmarked no later than April 15GÇ¥
That's just an example untill with a date means precisely, all over the world, end of that day 24:00 not the beginning 00:00. |

Your return is considered filed timely if the envelope is properly addressed and postmarked no later than April 15GÇ¥. Therefore, taxpayers have until April 15 to stand in line at the post office and get the envelope postmarked. April 14 is fine; April 15 is fine; April 16 is not.
That's just an example untill with a date means precisely, all over the world, end of that day 23:59:59 not the beginning 00:00:00.
Except your example does not use the word until. It uses the words 'no later than'.
Until: up to (the point in time or the event mentioned). If used in programming or correct grammar it does exactly what CCP have said it does. Once the date is the 30th, they are no longer guaranteed to work. It's correct English, the error is in your understanding. |

What they're trying to explain it as is that the date you see on the booster's info card makes no mention of how long you have to CONSUME one of them, just that the effects of any consumed before hand is guaranteed to last up till that point. You confusing the wording. Since boosters like the RD one do not give an immediate benefit, specifically that it's effects last for a time like you pointed out, the point of consumption and the end of it's duration are treated as two different events chronologically which accounts for the minimum possible offset...24 hours.
I know, play of words and maybe it should have specified that the date isn't how long you have until you cannot consume one rather than simply when any consumed therein wears off, but that's the gist of it.

Well I consumed one of these accelerators (on another character that I play) within the time required to finish it off before the deadline. How ever you read it.
But I noticed this, on the character sheet / skills tab, down in the Training Queue. On the line listing the skill in training it tells you how much time it will take to finish it (in this case 1d 1h 42m 45s). But at the bottom right it lists for the total time left as being greater (in this case 1d 13h 57m). Yes, only 1 skill in the queue.
Also, another skill that I plan on putting in when the present skill gets below 24 hours remaining. Previous to consuming the accelerator said that it would take 1d 16h plus to complete. Now after taking the accelerator, it says that it will take 3d 8h plus to complete. Same with several other skills that I plan to load in, they are all now nearly doubled in time to complete.
I noticed that a previously used accelerator completed the skill in less time than it said it would take and I did not think much of it until the use on this accelerator.
So CCP, it looks like your math is wrong in the displaying of the remaining time to complete the active skill. |

That's not surprising. CCP's had hell getting the UI to properly and more consistently report the proper timing on skill queues when popping one of these +10 boosters in the past. The actual numbers that should be shown versus what tends to get shown has often been erroneous on multiple occasions. Maybe one day, they'll get it fixed for good. The fortunate news is that the problem's been so far confined to being simply a display bug and not actually indicative of your real training times and speeds.

Agree with OP. When someone says "you have until June 30 to do X", it's commonsense that it includes the actual day June 30. I'm very salty as my last booster expired a few hours after 00:00 June 30. |

Well the next interesting fact is that 8 of my omega toons that SPs queues had stopped on the 9th of june 2017 was reimburst with different amounts of SPs ranging from 3k to 14k ofc after submitting tickets. Toons were off for more or less 8 to 10 hours and skill queues were started simultaneously after noticing the crash. I could bet they gave amounts randomly lol. Disappointment continues. Keep up the great work CCP! |

Not all queues were stopped at the same time, and the characters would have been training at different speeds.
This was in the message that CCP sent out about the action they took IIRC, and it was certainly posted about on Reddit. |

I can't think of any way to interpret that text that would support the OP.
The compounds in the accelerator cease to be of any use on the 30th. That means you will receive no benefit from them upon that time. The moment the date is the 30th they are done. Why would you think the end of the 30th was the deadline to pop another? What possible reason is there for that to ever be the case? |

Well all toons were skilling with the same speed between 2580 to 2700 per hour and I am pretty sure they run all accounts within an hour or less. You serious we got XXI century, it is only a few millions account at best. Unless they did it manually lol which is possible on the other hand, in that case it might took 6 hours that would explain so big discrepancies.
I am sorry I did not know reedit is an official CCP comunication form with players.
A lot of POSes were abonded since CCP announced changes according to which they should be long gone. You can not plan anything long term in the game since rules change every few months. Think I am just too old for this crap especially that I've paid for this game well over 100 USD monthly for a few last years and I am really tired being treated like a ******. |

CCP already said that the script took several hours to run, and because of the nature of the issue it's not checking a few million accounts but a few tens of millions of characters. Basically all characters still 'alive' in Eve. It's hardly surprising that a database operation, especially one on an active database, took several hours to complete.
I never said that it was just posted on Reddit, just that I know it was posted there and I think it was posted other places as well.
No idea what you're talking about bringing POSes into this. I'd also hardly say that it's impossible to make long term plans in this game. The main thing is not to just go chasing after the new broken Flavor of the Month, or you'll see it nerfed out from under you. |
